you guys are a bit oversensitive perhaps? I'm talking about a subset determined by behavior not race. the Mexican illegal population is just the most numerous example of a group that comes here en masse and isn't all that interested in truly integrating. if you come to a new place and intend to stay there, you should learn how that place does its business and be prepared to follow suit as much as you can. If you can't, you probably won't last very long. It's a lesson I learned the hard way several times vis-a-vis online communities.

Oh man, this thread is just a moderation dream. Dojji, I love you man, but you really could have made this point by just making the point without bringing nationality into it. Let's everyone just not even start down this road, I'm begging you.

Dojji was correct, and thank you for acknowledging that. Given the situation in this thread, I'd like to ask you to simply ignore any of the posts questioning your reasons for posting and respond only to the ones about the topic. Hopefully that will get things back on track. And try not to respond to personal attacks with ones of your own in the future. The best way to defuse accusations of trolling is to ignore the people who accuse you of it.

Understood, sometimes it's tough not to respond when getting attacked.

I will certainly try to refrain from that in the future.

Bagwell and Raines are almost certain to get in in 2017; both were right at 70% last time. Trevor Hoffman is another fair bet (he was at 67% in his first year on the ballot).

IRod is the most likely among the first year eligibles. 4 would be a large class, so Vladi and Schilling may have to wait another year or 2.

4 doesn't seem that large, three is pretty common, what's one more, especially when they're deserving.

I'm not sure about Vlad, though. I just never saw him as a HOFer.

I've been enjoying Wheaties lately. If I could only have one cereal before I died though: Chocolate Toast Crunch.

When I travel to the US to take YOTN out, I'll be sure to put you under along the way too.

Pity Evans is done as a candidate. He's more deserving than a lot of those guys, dude was way ahead of his time as a player, especially as a hitter.

Much as I loved Dewey as a player (I tried to get #24 when possible in HS and Legion ball), I just don't think he measures up to the Hall of Fame. Hall of the Very Good, yes, but not Cooperstown. Just my opinion, of course.

He certainly was ahead of his time in many ways, but IMO you have to judge players against their peers when it comes to HOF standards. Trying to cross eras is an exercise in futility; strategy, playing conditions, stadium types and sizes, etc. all change over time. Example, I remember when George Foster hit 50 homers sometime in the 70s, it was a number that was unheard of throughout the time I was growing up. Fast forward 15-20 years, 50 was routine.

Not worried.

I would suggest you take a course in reading comprehension as it is something that you obviously do not have a firm grasp on at this time.

I neither lambasted nor attacked Ortiz.

Please, get a clue.

Adroitly done. You focus on the word lambast--which I agree was over the top--and ignore my basic argument--that Ortiz has probably, given all the clean tests he has undergone, been clean for the vast majority of his best years, including this one. I say again, we are all aware of the cloud because we all know about the 2003 positive test. But, again, a cloud is by its nature nebulous, so I simply decided to blow it away with some facts and reasonable suppositions. When you came back and said that Ortiz's great success this year cannot be accepted for what it is, that was tantamount to an attack.

Just one time, please, address my basic argument--that the 2003 test notwithstanding, Ortiz has been repeatedly tested since then and at the same time had his best years as a hitter.

I think JBJ's hitting streak is very exciting, especially considering the struggles he went through. I love the team spirit it is fueling. Papi's great start is also inspiring the team. It doesn't really matter if records are broken because hitting success seems contagious on this team. Just incredible how many are performing at such a high level.

Coco Puffs used to be the best until I started trying to eat healthier. Now Cheerios rule.

Do I have to take out all of you? Raisin Bran all the way.

I'm regular enough already. Raisin Bran would be overkill.

You take that back.

Nah. You're too busy pooping your brains out with all that fiber to do anything about it.

Again, read the link that I provided earlier.

He's either exaggerating the amount of times he's been tested or he's in the program. Pretty clear that it's one or the other.

Side-point: Did you know several guys over the years have been suspended over steroidal or PED-type compounds found on OTC medications and certain workout supplements? Considering that Ortiz has had precisely zero PED-related problems after the infamous failed tests kinda leads one to conclude that it was probably a mishap with that type of substance.

Okay, now I have to flat-out disagree with you. While I obviously can't say with certainty that you are incorrect about either of those things, those are far from the only possibilities.

Fruity Pebbles was the cereal most wrestlers ate just after weight in......... it's pretty much crack as a children's cereal. I think Fruity Pebbles has to be high on the list of the most amazing cereals ever invented.......

I grew up with grapenuts........ WTF are grapenuts...

Babe has been on several Red Sox forums for at least five years inferring that Papi is a steroid user. He never tires of the routine and there are always posters who go for the bait. Boring.

Did you miss the part where I asked everyone to stop posting this stuff?

Good god, I thought I was indifferent to logic? Is that whole speil really something you couldn't have said in PM? Especially since you already know that YOTN is getting a little agitated about the conduct of the BDC imports in this thread? YOTN is one of the most laid back chill cool dudes I've ever seen moderate a forum. If he seems angry to you, it's because you guys are doing a terrific job of not listening to his guidelines about how he'd like this forum to be.

You guys are like the Mexican illegals who took over the Southwest, you want everything to be in your language How about instead of trying to turn this place into BDC you learn the culture on THIS forum a little better? You liked us good enough to come here, how about you decide to like us well enough to fit in here?

you guys just don't need to stress about Babe as much as you are. If he's that bad, he'll out himself. The solution to guys like that isn't to get the torches and pitch forks, it's to give them the rope they need to hang themselves.

And we here have been swatting Yankee contribs in this board who try their hand at trolling for a very long time. We don't have a problem with these guys. If you do, take it off board, mmk?

Lol. You sir are a Richard.

I don't remember trying to assimilate and act like native Americans. Do you?
