Albur here in Mexico is speak in double sense.

Look what I started - It has to be the slow season. I am sure that Henry lets out long leashes but ultimately his vote carries more weight than all the others combined.

Sure it is okay. Defend them all you want. As long as you don't take the criticism of the FO personally. I always find that type of reaction to be odd.

I don't think anyone is taking the criticism of the FO personally.

I think what they might be taking personally is when they are referred to as buttwashers, or whatever it is you call them.

There's a difference.

"Ditto, but wow, you set things off now. The FO made plenty of money on the team's success. They don't need adulation too. It's not like they worry about popularity with fans. Unlike players, there is no market for their autographs and memorabilia."

This was in response to the replies to Spudboy's comment, including mine, correct?

I don't like my comments mischaracterized.

I'm funny like that.

Ughh! I didn't.

We already discussed this. See http://www.talksox.com/forum/threads/11945-Hello-11-Active-Members?p=942309&viewfull=1#post942309

Don't carryover arguments from other threads. Not good Kimmi. Tsk Tsk.

Why?

Frankly, I've got better things to do than catalog the Sox FO's failures.

That goes for their successes too.

2013 was great, but it was two seasons ago.

2014 sucked, but it was last season.

I'm more interested in this season.

Well I predicted an AL East title for the Red Sox this season so that ought to carry you over in a happy state for the weekend.

I think all three front office guys are pukes.

Bravo to you Spud!!!!!!;):) I don't like Prune Face, Larry Lizard or that worm Werner either. Somehow, whether we like it or not, we have to give them a little credit. We have three rings to show for their efforts. Hell, out here in So Cal, it seems every night the Dodger 24 Hour station keeps reminiscing about the 1988 title of theirs. Talk about sickening and pathetic.

I'm not talking about the specific incident from the other thread.

I'm talking about in general. New argument. New thread.

Same argument same answer different thread.

It's BALLwashers Kimmi---and whoever refers to them as that as a damn right to do it if that is their opinion. When someone calls someone here that name or buttkisser that is what's different. That is a personal affront to a colleague on this board. Pruney, Lizard and the Worm are in the public eye and not members of Talksox, therefore in my opinion it can open season on them if we desire to make it so.

If you don't mind sounding like you're 12, have at it.

I prefer more mature means of expression.

Really - Ah - have you followed many of these threads? Maturity? Only in rare occasions is it not balls to the wall I'm afraid.

No problem

I'm able to pick and choose. I've read enough posts here to know when to start ignoring some of them.

I don't expect anyone to change because of what I post.

I don't mind at all because with rare exceptions I don't give a rat's ass if someone thinks I act like a 12 year old. I know better and I have enough of a positive self image to have a very positive self image. As a fact, there is a lot of missives on this board that sounds as if it came from a teenager. It's a forum and we do have the right of self expression and freedom of speech. Read the Bill of Rights lately?

And don't forget about the "no whining" promise! ;-)

What do you mean with "no whining"? Do not pointing out when something is wrong and sometimes with bad words?

I could understand that coming from a woman, but coming from a man?... Cmon!

Still do not understand why some people get angry when somebody is pointing out when something's wrong or produce frustration with your team mostly when it is losing or a player makes a bad play or something... It usually happens here in game threads; I think it is part of the game and how you feel your fandom. In real life it always happens when your team shits the bed and you share those feelings with your buddies at bars or someone's place in the middle of a barbecue... and trust me, those feelings are unanimous and most of the times they are funny and creative I would say haha.

That's not how free speech works.

I was about to post the same thing. It's like we're long lost brothers. Except I'm cool and you wear dad pants. Ew.

All my goodwill rests with Henry and Ben. LL seems to have his own idea of what the Red Sox should do and has undercut the GM in the past. Werner is just a NESN muppet who only cares about crappy secondary programming.

- 1 to SnC

-1.25 to Bell (Canadian exchange rate)

- 666 to UN (DR exchange rate)

Is he the one responsible for losing Hazel Mae, Jenny Dell, and Heidi Watney? I wasn't a fan of his before, but letting them walk really pissed me off.

Ah when the regular season separated the men from the boys.

The good old days of 11,000 attendance, parking for free on Van Ness Street, great seats at the box office a hour before game time, Ned Martin, Hawk Harrelson, and Ken Coleman in the booth, no luxury or Monster seats, no Wally, no inter-league play, George Scott philosophizing in his high pitched voice, Jimmy Piersall going off the rails. Yep, those were the good old days. ;)

I loved every minute of it.

That's exactly how it works.

On this "forum" you have no right to free speech. A mod can ban you for whatever they feel like. This is closer to mother Russia than a freedom loving country like Norway. Our KGB is in hibernation for the moment.

Comfy pants are best pants.

Sad about Piersall - remember him going up the screen behind home plate. Also remember him going around the bases backwards after a home run with the Mets. Might have been his last one.

Are you trying to tell me that men don't whine? LOL

I don't agree with all the FO moves. I also get very frustrated when the Sox are not playing well. I am not always a fun person to watch the games with. But once the emotion subsides and rational thinking kicks in again, I understand that the FO has really done a good job overall, and that the players are really trying their best not to stink. No need for all the bashing. That's just not the way that I support my team. I understand that others have the need to do so differently. I just don't get it.
