I wonder if Kennedy intentionally threw at Puig to begin with? Usually when you do that you don't hit a guy in the face. You could f***ing kill someone hitting them in the eye with a baseball going 90 miles an hour, that's ridiculous.

I was wondering the same thing, its one thing to hit someone intentionally, but hitting someone in the face/head is dangerous and f***ed up.

Yankees got their colon cleansing last night, especially CC. I heard he was full of brown s*** that the CDC had to shut down every fast food joint.

How about Gerrit Cole? 2-run single in his first at-bat in the majors to go along with 6.1 strong innings. Mark my words, the Pirates are turning into the Rays. Years of drafting high coupled with ownership and management that suddenly gives at least three-quarters of a damn has finally brought them to the brink of respectability. If they don't make the postseason this season, they will next season.

It's only really since the year they took Alvarez that they've been putting the required effort into drafting properly, and by effort I mean paying the money it takes to sign top talent (the new attention to slot money also helps, I guess). It also helps not to have a complete clown for a GM, who will pick Daniel Moskos over Matt Wieters, and then spend the $ that was available for Wieters on picking up all of Matt Morris's contract when the Giants were desperate to get him off their team at any cost.

Scherzer in the 3 way deal with ARI, DET, and NYY.

Yankees Receive: Granderson

Tigers Receive: Scherzer, A. Jackson, Daniel Schlereth, Phil Coke

D’Backs Receive: E. Jackson, Kennedy

(Tigers got a steal in that package).

Fister: Trade with Mariners (acquired David Pauley as well), traded Francisco Martinez, Casper Wells, Charlie Furbush, and Chance Ruffin

Sanchez: Traded with Omar Infante to Detroit for Jacob Turner (BA #22 prospect), Rob Brantly, and Brian Flynn.

I can't really take the D-Backs trades too seriously, especially after Justin Upton and Trevor Bauer.

Trevor Bauer is awful.

Trevor Bauer is awful.

He's 22 so I think the jury is still out, but he was awesome at UCLA, was the 3rd overall pick in 2011, and the D-backs got rid of him because he's an *******. And perhaps because he's also a really bad rapper.

The D-backs sent him with Matt Albers and Bryan Shaw to Cleveland for Didi Gregorius, Tony Sipp, and Lars Anderson. I believe it was a 3 team trade where the Guardians also got Drew Stubbs and sent Shin Soo-Choo and Jason Donald to Cincinnati.

Edit: And he's only like 32 innings into his career. I remember Roy Halladay having an ERA of 10.64 through 67.2 innings in 2000. (He was 23 that season)

Wow! SD is pounding SF and is in the hunt in the NLW lol

BTW if they win today (likely), they will have a 8W streak.

Just f*** the Orioles in general. I know that having more teams in the hunt for playoff spots is better for baseball as a sport. I even love the fact that the AL East has the possibility of being a 5-team race every year, it's exciting. I like that the Pirates and the Nationals are contenders now. But every once in a while I realllllly miss the days when playing Baltimore or Tampa Bay was almost always a guaranteed sweep. I can't take the stress.

Tampa Bay has been a punching bag for us this year. Does that help at all?

A little, yeah, but even going 9-2 hasn't eased the stress. They're still the sort of team now that I have to hold my breath watching unless the Sox have a 7 or 8 run lead. Every time a guy comes up to bat he has the chance to change the game for them.

That BJ Upton contract could be the biggest failure in the history of the majors. Guy is lost, literally.
