Pirates are a lot more viable as WS contender than they're given credit for, because of their pitching. If Grili's out for the year though, it would be a crippling blow, since they already needed RHP help in the BP.

Watching the Twins game on the Minnesota feed. Announcer to his partner: "You've seen Hernandez pitch from the broadcast booth."

Jesus, I knew he had a good arm, but....

I don't get it. I didn't like the trade, thinking their rotation wouldn't be up to the task anyway. NL to AL pitchers usually don't pan out, but Josh J has great stuff, yet for some reason he can't get anybody out. His velocity is back to where it was last year, but he's just getting hammered all over the place. Dickey was sure to regress, but he's just sucking balls too. Ridiculous.

I didn't think you were taking a shot at me. I was just saying how surprised i am that the trade turned out this badly. And don't even get me started on Buerhle, who's been the opposite of what he's been in his career. He's been so inconsistent it brings back Dice-K flashbacks.

The whole season for the Jays surprises me. I thought that this year would be the year that all 5 teams in the division were in a dogfight for first. I honestly expected the season to end with no more than three or four games separating all of the teams.

When the roster includes Buerhle, Dickey, Johnson, Reyes, Encarnacion, Bautista....well, it just seemed like a great team. Dickey coming down a bit I could understand, his Cy Young season seemed like a once-in-a-career season at best and a bizarre fluke at worst, seeing as he's a knuckleballer. But no way did I think they would be this bad.

The Yankees are at -6. Amazing how bad a team can be when one half of the offense/pitching combination is excellent and the other half is awful. Incidentally, the Yankees are the only team over .500 with a negative differential.

And holy s***, the Tigers and Cardinals are at +132. Sox are +98, behind those two teams and the Braves at +110.

The Sox should significantly improve their differential in the coming couple of weeks. The Tigers are an interesting case. They don't have a much better record because of all the problems their BP has had throughout the season, but their SP and offense are terrifying even with Verlander having a down season.

Pittsburgh are only +49.

The Pirates must be running on fumes right now. When you have Francisco Liriano and A.J. Burnett pitching like aces, they have to fall apart at some point. I hope they crush the Dodgers in the playoffs, but the way their team is composed still seems kind of silly.

Anybody following the ARod soap opera? Looks like the Yankees are trying to get him banned for life so they can void his contract. Yankee fans and the NY media are vilifying him on the tweets.

Trouble is, what's ARod done that's different from Braun and the others? This is his first offense, so to speak.
