The Pirates must be running on fumes right now. When you have Francisco Liriano and A.J. Burnett pitching like aces, they have to fall apart at some point. I hope they crush the Dodgers in the playoffs, but the way their team is composed still seems kind of silly.

To be fair, he pitched pretty good last year too (Burnett), and that stadium seriously hides his HR proneness. As for Liriano, always had lights-out stuff, but has never been able to harness it consistently. This seems to be "one of those years" for him.

Burnett suddenly turned into everything he was supposed to be at age 36. For some reason I thought Liriano was older... I'm less surprised now that I realize he's only 29.

Going from the AL to the NL to a team with lights-out D all around, a terrible stadium for offense and a manager who's not a big fan of the 7-run rule will certainly help.

LOL@ Rodney. He blew a 3-run save to the Dodgers and then he lost the game on a DP comebacker that he threw into the outfield. His throw wasn't even close.

Thank God the Rays have a big problem area there.

And how many saves has Bailey had recently?

Considering the production from the Sox outfielders and the fact that Reddick had to hit 3HR in one game to jump his OPS up to a little under .700, I think we can agree that the trade didn't damage the Sox too much.

and the trade didn't help us one iota-- last year or this year. The A's got one really good season out of Reddick. Clear advantage A's.

Brian Wilson, your beard was already stupid but somehow it brought you fame. Now your beard has jumped the shark. Time to cut that s*** off, big guy.
