Tim Lincecum has fallen about as much as a pitcher can fall this year. Just walked in a run' date=' it's 3-0 Oakland with 0 out in the 1st.[/quote']

Lincecum ending up giving up just the 3 runs in 6 innings and the Giants came back and won. Give him credit for this one.

his 2-8 for the year with an ERA over 6 .

But looking at his stats , it seems he's been rather unlucky this year

Nah, he's been rather sucky so far this season. Luck evens out after almost half of a season. He's not executing when he has to execute.

Credit given. Looked like he was going to give up 6 runs in the 1st alone.

The Pirates may have a genuine shot this year. Last year was iffy, they started off strong but kind of faded when some guys who were playing almost too well reverted to normal. But this season seems different. Burnett seems like a new man. It'll be interesting to see if McDonald, McCutchen, etc. can actually keep Pittsburgh in the middle of things, or at least end the streak of losing seasons.

Orioles down 6-2 to Cleveland. They'll be 3-9 in their last 12. Looks like the beginning of the end for them. It was only a matter of time before their pitching went down the drain. By the deadline I expect them to be in 4th or 5th.

Zack Greinke started yesterday and was ejected after 4 pitches. He's starting again today, makIng him the first pitcher since CJ Wilson in 08 to start back to back games. He's also slated to start their first game after the break, and that will make him be the first pitcher since 1917 to start 3 consecutive games. Just an interesting fact I read

The All Star game is dumb.

Interleague play and the infamous tie game killed it.

They should replace it all with skills competitions or just give everyone a week off in July.

Brewers are also preparing an offer for Greinke. How crazy would it be to see them both off the table?
Most teams keep their premier pitchers. It wouldn't surprise me at all.

What a wild 9th inning in LA between the Dodgers and the Padres. The Dodgers were up 6-5 to start the inning. The closer, Kenley Jensen gave up two hits to start the inning to set the table with a first and third situation and no one out. The next two batters struck out and popped up. The batter on forst stole second at some point. With 2 Balls and 2 strikes on Amarista, the pitcher starts pawing at the mound with his cleat and as he was working on the mound, he turned his back on home plate. As soon as he turned his back, Evereth Cabrera on third took off for home plate. The pitcher panicked and threw the ball passed the catcher and 2 runs scored. Wow!!! I have never seen anything like that steal of home in the 9th inning.

Wow! That would have been cool to have seen. The Dodgers had to have been pissed. I'll have to look for the highlight.

Well, not that, but I'm talking about the impact on the trade market. It may make Josh Beckett very moveable.

Chapman has sick numbers , holy .

K/9 of 16.55 before tonights game and he struck out the side .

Actually , he's struck out 18 of the last 21 batters he's faced

So, does Pittsburgh break their losing record streak this season? They were at .500 at the ASB last season and faded, but I think they can hold on this season. Their division is playing out like they actually have a chance to take it, too. No matter what happens, I think they at least finish with a winning record this year.

If McCutchen keeps playing like a young Bonds, then yes. He's my NL MVP so far, ahead of Votto and Wright. If he fades, the Pirates fade. I think St. Louis makes a late run again to take the division, with Pittsburgh finishing 2nd and Cincy 3rd. I think Pittsburgh and Atlanta take the WC's, and from there it's a crapshoot.
