Texas 10- O's 1. In the 7th.

Wish I could hear Jim Palmer's smug ass now. Well, not really. I can but don't want to.

If a guy hits three home runs' date=' do you really pitch to him again the rest of the night?[/quote']

You do if you're an idiot. I mean, if you're Buck Showalter.

Wait, I don't know, is there any difference?

Blue Jays Sign Vladimir Guerrero

By Ben Nicholson-Smith [May 10 at 3:14pm CST]

The Blue Jays have signed Vladimir Guerrero to a minor league deal, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports tweets.

But we have Daniel Nava.

The Orioles did something today that we can't do. They beat Texas. Chen went78 2/3 innings and gave up only 2 runs throwing only 102 pitches. We don't have any pitcher that can do that against the Royals never mind against the Rangers.

Blue Jays Inquired On Hamels, Victorino

By Ben Nicholson-Smith [May 11 at 8:04am CST]

In anticipation of possible midseason trades, the Blue Jays have asked the Phillies about left-hander Cole Hamels and center fielder Shane Victorino, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports. Though GM Ruben Amaro Jr. has said the Phillies could become sellers and Hamels and Victorino are on track for free agency this offseason, no deal is close or likely.

Blue Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos asks about other teams’ star players regularly, but there’s a difference between due diligence and serious trade talks. The Blue Jays have reportedly inquired on Felix Hernandez, Michael Pineda, Gio Gonzalez, Jose Reyes, Alex Gordon and others under Anthopoulos without acquiring any of those players. Meanwhile, Amaro told Rosenthal that he needs to be mindful of the Phillies’ short and long-term goals.

“I can’t shut any doors down,” he said, without addressing specific trade scenarios. “You try to be creative. And there are a lot of creative GMs out there who have different goals.”

Amaro said he doesn’t expect to be a seller this summer. Yet he’s realistic and acknowledges he may have to take on a new role at the upcoming trade deadline. The Phillies have traded for Cliff Lee, Roy Oswalt and Hunter Pence leading up to recent trade deadlines.

It's not surprising that Anthopoulos would inquire on Hamels and Victorino in my view. We know the Blue Jays check in on players routinely and there's no harm in starting dialogue early. This is a juicy rumor that tells us something about the respective styles of the GMs involved, but it doesn't mean a trade is brewing.

^ this is a GM who is doing his job. Our guy, the Boob (I am dropping the Benny part), sits there and tells us that things will come around and fall into place and that he is happy with our pitching staff, etc. He was unaware when Sergio Santos was available. He couldn't lock down Mike Gonzalez who went to the Nats. Reports are that he talked to Boras about Gonzalez, but Gonzalez preferred the Nats. Good job, boob. He also let a free Bobby Abreu slip through his fingers and instead brought up Daniel Nava. I would take back Dan Duquette in a heart beat. This guy is a jackass.

Pitchers have to go through hell to get through that line up. What goes on in their head. Pitcher: "Sweet I got passed Hamilton! PA Announcer: "Now batting' date=' third baseman Adrian Beltre!" Pitcher"f*** this"[/quote']

It's not like they can even consider outscoring them either, especially with Darvish on the mound. That kid is a stud.

Those fans look so happy.. Darvish gives up a long home run, then hits a batter, then gets pulled.. And he leaves to a standing O.

Carlos Beltran is also on a torrid start.

I remember when there were " rumors" of us bringing in Beltran and every expert there is said it would be a horrible idea.... Yup... Glad we didn't sign this bum... 12 hrs and 27 RBI ?? No thanks

Josh Reddick was 4 for 4 and a walk tonight with 2 HRs, 5 RBI and 4 Runs. Reddick has 8 HRs already-- more than anyone on the Red Sox. Sweeney has 0.
