The only thing more shocking than Mike Fiers throwing a no-hitter is finding out that it's the second time he's done it.

Less than a week after sucking against the Red Sox

Is Mike Fiers the worst pitcher with 2 no-hitters?

The Angels throwing a no hitter while all the players wearing Tyler Skaggs jerseys is probably the best moment in sport this year.

That was awesome. I love baseball.

Congrats to Lucas Giolito for throwing a no hitter last night, striking out 13 in the process. It's refreshing to see, especially after just talking about how starting pitchers can barely make it past 5 innings these days.

Add the White Sox to the list of teams doing surprisingly well this season. They may be set to do very well for several years.

Giolito is a budding star in this league, if he is not already. Ultimate power pitcher. When he's on, good luck getting anything in the air

Yesterday's was pretty special. Alec Mills wasn't even recruited at UT-Martin. He just happened to decide to go to school there, then walked by the pitching coach one day at practice and told him he thought he was good enough to pitch on their team. Then he's a mid-20th round pick.

If I'm that coach, I ignore him. How many kids walk up to practice and tell you they should be playing on your team. Kudos to him for hearing him out and giving him a try out.

Cool story. I did not know that.

I flipped over to the game, after getting an alert on my phone, to watch the last 1/2 inning. What I found interesting was that, according to the announcers, Mills had only gotten 5 swings and misses in his 110 or so pitches. That's very low.

No mention of Musgrove's no hitter, the first in Padres history?

Good story.

This is why we love baseball.

My first thought was I'm glad the Yankees didn't get him. :)

Carlos Rodon tossed the 20th no-hitter in White Sox history last night vs. the Guardians. A ninth inning HBP prevented a perfect game.

I assume he will be on the hill for Chicago on Patriots Day.

That is the expectation. Bellhorn pointed out in yesterday's game thread that he might be on a pitch count though, since he was clearly "overworked" last night by modern standards

Did anyone see some college softball pitcher had a perfect game with 21 Ks in 21 PAs?

There have been perfect games. There have been 21 K games.

There has never been both.

There has never been a pitcher to get 21 K's in an MLB game. The record stands at 20, held by Roger Clemens (twice), Kerry Wood, Randy Johnson and Max Scherzer.

The record for strikeouts in a perfect game is 14, held by Sandy Koufax and Matt Cain...

I remember the first 20 K game thrown by a MLB pitcher, Clemens vs Detroit. That was amazing!

Softball is certainly not baseball, but 21 Ks in 7 inning games is fantastic. Doing it as you pitch a perfect game is astounding, nonetheless.

I searched numerous articles and found the box score, but no place indicates how many pitches she threw.

I think I read this was the second time this year she had struck out 21 in a game; the earlier game was not as perfect though, as she walked a couple and allowed 5 hits and a couple runs.

Clemens first 20 K game was against Seattle; he did it again against Detroit a decade or so later.

Man-o-man, I'm losing my memory, and I'm just 61!

You didn’t forget it. You just misremembered it. LOL!

As the late, great Lowell George used to sing, "Try to remember to forget."
