Always on his heels pulling of the ball limited barrel coverage and opposing pitchers know it

I don’t want to blame his utter incompetence on his psychological problems but I’m sure it’s part of it. He totally lacks confidence.

Needs to take a page out of Anthony’s book.  Balanced swing late in the pitch going the other way.

Duran has trouble with high fastballs and has trouble with balls with spin unless it's hanging and has little concept of the strike zone.

But other than that he's fine.

i sure hope we move on from him in the offseason.

He’s got to fix his head

Chapman seems to be slowing down a bit. He’s getting old. As somebody who’s been watching him basically all year. Even as much as a year ago, he’s lost 2-3 MPH.

You can just see it in the way he pitches. He’s giving up hits, he’s not automatically shutting down games anymore. He’s giving up hits but still winning the game.

This is gonna be death by a thousand cuts...they could still finish below .500...no pitching, no hitting, no defense, no heart.....

When Contrares returns, I would like to see Anthony in left and Gasper and Jones platooning at DH.

Roman's fragility is worrisome.

So...

1. L Anthony LF

2. R Rafaela CF

3. L Abreu RF

4. R Contreras 1B

5. S Rutschman C

6. S Gasper v R/ R Jones v L DH

7. R Story SS

8. R Durbin 3B

9. R IKF v R/ S Sogard v L 2B

(Seiler would be fine v R, but he's in AAA)

This is the lineup to finish the regular season.

But they need to give both Abreu and Durbin  each 2 consecutive nights off in separate sets of games. Both are struggling

Duran's hitting technique and approach at each AB has been mentioned several times here as a problem.

Either he is uncouchable or unable to adjust. Either way , he is unreliable.

I expect him to be gone by start of short season 2027

While I agree they need some rest, Abreu is far from struggling.

He's been our best batter post ASB (qualifying PAs)

He's at 1.007 since the start of the Yankee series (8 gms)

1.006 last 30 games

We do have Sept 10th and then quickly the 14th off. (The 21st is our last off day before the Sept 27 final game. 3 days off in the next 24 days.

It's not "unable to adjust," IMO: he tries to adjust too much.
