yeah, i hear you.  Depends on a few things.  But I feel like the bar to leap IKF and Sogard (for 2b) is high because its not like they are killing us....and the bar to leap durbin is even higher cuz hes cemented as an average hitter/elite defender which is a good starter and also lf overflow + Gasper kind of locks up DH (when Contreras comes back).

If IKF was done for year and sogard was hitting..181 , I would be more willing to plug in Mead at 2b and cross fingers.

Sogard is one of the 8 best position players on the team this season. Story has yet to show defensively that he should be the starting shortstop in the playoffs, even over Sogard, who does everything at least competently.

Story on a doubles streak only makes him a candidate as a RHH DH in the postseason... though not if Jones is still batting .500.
