Campbell is fine right where he is in Woo for the rest of the year, and then decide what to do with him next year.

The problem is Duran is not fine leaving in the line-up until the end of the year.

This is today. The here and now. Duran sucks now.

What's your plan.

When Campbell had a 1059 OPS in July: 2 HR, 4 2B, 16 1B, 13 BB

He's not hitting XBH anymore.

But he’s getting on base like he just closed on it…

Do you really think how the Red Sox see the here, and now, and you see the here, and now are seen the same way?

But Duran is not fine in LF and hasn’t been all year and the limited options that don’t involve waiving a player include Campbell, Eaton, White and Jones.  Or Yoshida with someone (who?) taking over at DH…

I’m not saying Duran is fine. I’m just responding on what I think the Red Sox will do. The only way I see the Red Dox taking away much playing time from Duran would be an insertion of Anthony in the lineup.

They already have Masa. His ceiling right now is Masa. Keep him in AAA into the ceiling goes higher.

If Anthony/Meade/IKF all come back, we already have too many roster decisions to make, Im not looking to add KC to the mix personally.

If Duran was to come out of the lineup, who would you replace him with? Jones? White? Seigler (to DH with Yoshida in LF)?

All viable options.  But all are just as risky (or maybe even more risky) than trying Campbell…

If you bring Campbell up, you have to cut Jones or White. Seems a little riskier for a guy that isn't tearing up AAA.

Or demote Duran…

Unless they view Anthony as a replacement for Yoshida.

And they really should take away playing time from Duran this year.  Yes or no?

Duran has a career BABip of .324.  This year it's .246.  They must think he's due for that to improve to keep plugging him in the lineup.

For the hundreth time: I'm not making predictions when I give my opinion on what should happen.

I know the Sox will not demote Duran.

Can we give up reaching for reasons?

For the 100th time where did I say you were making a prediction? I know it was a suggestion, but is there some kind of a  clause that says you can’t make a suggestion that the Red Sox might actually consider, and do?🤔

It's obvious you think my suggestions are predictions, because you have many times said I "got it wrong" because it didn't happen.

On suggestions that do come true.... I was one of the few posters who suggested the top bat priority at the deadline should be a catcher. Does that count?

Even if they do comeback do not expect much . Both are way behind the power curve for late season MLB

No doubt it’s obvious to you, but if saying something didn’t, or won’t happen, because the Red Sox don’t see things as you do is the same thing as saying you got it wrong then I’m guilty, but either way if it’s a prediction, or suggestion distinguishing between the two doesn’t make it less wrong, or less likely to happen.

Per the most recent episode of the TalkSox podcast, it's noted that the issue is that he doesn't square up the ball (7th percentile) and his bad approach at the plate isn't going to change that anytime soon (high chase and whiff numbers). While he's swinging the bat hard, he's just not able to connect on many pitches. He can't even hit 4 seamers this year.

Swinging Strike % (More than 100 Pitches)

Romy 27.7 - WOO

TCC 26.9 - WOO

Eaton 26.7 - WOO

Duran 26.3 - Plays every dang day!

Narvaez 26.4 - BAL

Story 25.0 - IL

That's a list of guys who you wouldn't want to see up with the game on the line this year.
