You won’t? Then who will?

Remember Tristin Casas? His leg is fine now. In April he strained his abdomen and went on 60 day IL. Then in June, he hurts his wrist and is back on the 60 day IL. The guy will not be back this season, if ever.

Never heard of her, 😅

And thanks to a stupid rule, Bello is credited with a save for successfully holding a 12 run lead…

Give the guy a participation trophy

If Story looks healthy and can have a good rehab stint, I think he deserves a shot to replace Romy. And then see if he can earn back a bigger role. But he should not have anything handed to him or have a long leash. Story's ceiling is just so much higher if he could prove to be in form, that I think you gotta give him a look. If Romy was hitting lefties this year like he did last year, I might feel different, but he hasn't really earned much this year either.

Romy isn’t with the team. He was optioned already

If the Sox are the best team in baseball right now, then Houston has to be the second best.

The challenge obviously will be to maintain focus over the next couple of months. I don’t think they can keep up this pace but something like it would be nice

My fear is that Story will return looking for his starting gig again.

Oh, haha. Didn't notice. Thought maybe we rostered Sogard due to the Mead acquisition and subsequent IL'ing or something.

I predicted the Sox would win 90 games before this season started. To accomplish that the Sox would have to finish the season at 29-21.

Yeah, that crossed my mind. Story coming back does have the biggest chance of ruining our mojo of any IL guy. I was hoping he'd feel like he needed to prove something and be willing to help however he could, since he was trash before the injury and a big part of why we sucked. But he could be a bitch about it, too. Good point.

Maybe he needs another appt with the Sox med staff for re-evaluation, if you know what I'm saying. homer simpson GIF

13 wins in a row against teams in first place…

If I pinch myself one more time, I'll die of internal bleeding.

Reasonablely doable now

I can’t remember how many wins we had last year but my prediction was that they would win a couple more than that. It seemed quite impossible six weeks ago.

However it turns out this past several weeks have been a lot more fun than before them

He has not performed well for a long time. Maybe it’s time to cut ties

Bello has accepted his new role quite maturely. Unlike another player whose name won't be mentioned.

we won't say his name but you can't spell VERY SPOILED without it.

His best season for the Sox by far was not that long ago. It was more recent than 2022, 2023, and 2024.

He started slowly in 2025, so his best Sox stretch was about a year ago.

That being said, I want nothing more to do with him. At most, he can be given a chance to win the 2B job, next spring, assuming we can use Mead at DH or LF.
