No, but if we lose the opening game to LA, you'll see some sellers in here.

You'll see one for sure.

The team is loaded with weak hitting players.  Contreras is our big bat and his career high on homers is 24 which came 8 seasons ago and now he's got 23.  Abreu's high in homers is 22 (he's six off that mark).  We need a big bat.  A 30 plus homer bat.

Wait!  You mean that Red isn't talking to Breslow every day about his plans?

No one said that…

The one he needed anesthesia for I heard is usually thought to be WENDY , perhaps a girlfriends name but higher authority says it Welcome to Boston, Have a Nice Day when more closeley observed.  IYKYK

Realistically anyone with 30 HR power is someone who is sitting at 20 right, that's roughly 32 guys in MLB right now.  A lot of those guys are not for sale, but a few of them will be.  Goodman, Soto, Neto are names who have been thrown out on that list who have all had trade rumors surrounding them (some more than others).

But I'd be perfectly happy with a high slugging 20 HR guy too who can also get on base and play a position of need with above average defense to better.  That casts a much wider net and makes the probability of aqcuiring said player higher.

Lo Siente.  He had told me that Alonso was Breslow's Plan A, so I assumed he knew things.

LF - Complete black hole.  Move on JJ Bleday, since he is FA in 3 months and Cincy will listen.  His LHH bat is more likely to be a factor against RHP.  Just sell low on Duran.   Don’t like my Bleday call?  How did you feel when I brought up Mead?

Did you not read my reply to you in the wishlist thread? He is not a UFA. Cincy owns his rights until '29 and aren't trading him unless someone gives them a strong offer. There are better options.

I did not read that.  Apologies.   It happens in this type of forum.  <sigh> Thsts what happens when you talk to your wife and child, and why I advise against it.

So yes he is not FA.  Sad, he was such a good fit.  Rental options in this FA class are beyond boring.  Springer?  Hes a fit, and worthwhile if Anthony comes back.  Gurriel might be.  And Luis Robert, who hasn’t been good since 2023.

And Taylor Ward.  Assuming Baltimore actually sells.

Just brings me back to two months ago asking for our Spring Training hero Braiden Ward…

The loss won't cause that. He's locked in.

No worries. Wasn't trying to be a dick, either. lol. I can get a little snarky when debating, but it's all in good fun.
I was interested in Bleday for a minute too(and still would be for a decent price) but then I read he was team controlled and the Reds were unlikely to move unless compelled by a really good offer.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I think Springer is perfect if the price isn't too steep. I would take a chance on Robert Jr. next. He has also been hitting well since returning from injury, and if he stays healthy has the talent to be a difference maker.  Wouldn't hate T. Ward but not sure he moves the needle that much. Gurriel would have to be a very buy low as has been atrocious this season. Not really sure why.

I wouldn't object to Robert either.  Again, a little low-end, but if he's playing today, I'd gamble that he can play for the next two months.  Either way, it should be a small investment.

I honestly think he could be a really sneaky good pick up, Especially for a team who plays at Fenway(us).
Low risk with a potential high reward if he can stay healthy for a few months.
Not my first choice, but I wouldn’t be mad if he got him for a song.
Him and Brady Singer would be a deadline that I would be fine with.

Luis Robert is capable of getting injured by getting traded.  Fill out those forms very carefully…

If I am trading Duran, I want a very reliable LF (Springer/Adell).  If I'm supplementing Duran, then I am will to make a low-cost gamble.
