I agree, but that wasn’t bresLOW’s plan.

You have no idea what Breslow's plan is.  I mean, if you think you talked to him about it, I'd be interested in hearing the conversation.  But you have no idea what Breslow was thinking on the 100 players he might have been considering.

Obviously, Chad didn't agree with my suggestion of Masa being the everyday DH.

I understand. Why have a contact hitter DH when you can have a non-contact batter DH.

Should Breslow look hard at the Giants' Arraez? Obviously not a power hitter, but an excellent leadoff hitter. Actually, he's just an excellent hitter period.

I think he is a perfect fit.

Huh? The Red Sox offered Alonso a contract first, and when he turned them down traded for Contreras a couple weeks after that, so you got it all wrong, and ass backwards. Come on man I thought you were better than that.🤔🤭🙈

He lowballed Alonso because he knew he had the Contreras deal available.

YOSHIDA WASN’T THE f***ING DH!!

<sigh> Calm down, notin.  Remember you’re trying to argue with someone who still thinks that the Sox chose Gasper over Schwarber…

Think how much better we'd have been if Schwarber had accepted the $775,000 we offered Gaspar.

That is a lot of money.  Babe Ruth never made that much.

Clearly Breslow thinks Gasper is better than Babe Ruth!!

Would you include Arias in a trade for the Marlins' SS Otto Lopez, who is leading the NL in BA and doubles?

I think you're buying high.  I wouldn't do it, but if they threw in Alcantara, I'd think about it.

He is already earning over 30M per. You want to pay him more to be a DH?

You're wasting your time.  Fred doesn't care how often or how egregiously wrong he is.

BTV accepts Arias, KC & Wong for Lopez, Hicks & Alcantara.

Also for Arias, Narvaez & Bello.

IMO, Brez knew he could get Contreras for cheap, and that's why his offer for Alonso was absurdly low.

We were never going to get Schwarber, and I doubt we wanted a DH more than BAL wanted a 1Bman. We had Duran-Anthony as the DH.

Yoshida & Romy was a very capable back-up DH platoon. DH was not on the radar.

And no, Gaspar had nothing to do with any of these choices. Nada.

Suarez and Durbin over a Bregman signing was a choice.

Yes, I see that now. Hard to debate someone who is detached from reality. Exercise in futility. Haha.

The only way Fred will ever get off Rafaela's A$$ is if he wins the triple crown.

Sshhh! Look, I know it’s in EST.  You know it’s in EST.  Schwarber? Apparently he doesn’t know that.

I suppose when you can hit over 900 feet worth of home runs in one inning, folks let you slide on your slipshod geography knowledge…

The Contreras trade looks like a solid steal. Gray does, too, but there is more TBD to that trade.

The Oviedo trade has not helped or hurt, yet.

The Durin trade now looks like a win (or tie), but it's still TBD.

The under-the-radar deal that some disliked on day one was Perales for Bennett.

While I do think we needed another big bat, I can't roast a guy for pulling off these many good deals, and this is after last season's Crochet deal!

A legendary one that he took heat for. Durbin might be my favorite Red Sox player in 2026

Breslow must be the one unluckiest SOB in the league !    Had he not made a deal "early" Mead would not have been out there last night. Had Tracy not juggled the lineup moving Rafaela down to 5th, Mead would have been OK, but Cedanne's Grand Slam would not have happened.

So I will take what happened and the win, but I will never stand near Breslow if a thunderstorm is predicted.

Amen brother! An “early” exit for mead for 2026!

They’re keeping him from what I hear. Unfortunately

It was widely reported that bringing Bregman back was the Red Sox top priority this past offseason. It was reported in length, and pretty much known by MOST people, so that sounds like a pretty good idea of what the plan was editor you I guess.🙈

Really? You got proof of that??5 yr, and the money was set aside for Bregman, and that fell through the money, and 5 yrs went to Ranger instead. They wasn’t going to offer Alonso the same kind of money, and length too. Lowballing Alonso had nothing to do with Con Man at all except for the money, and length maybe. Once again this was all discussed in real time. You’re always trying to interject yourself, and always trying to play catch up.🙈👋

I think they had a number in mind for Alonso that fit their model. Once Alonso's market exceeded that number, they were out. I think they pivoted to Contreras from there.

If they had that Contreras deal in hand, what were they waiting for? That deal was a slam dunk. What if another team comes in and trades for Contreras while you are talking to Alonso and then Alonso signs elsewhere? That scenario doesn't make sense to me.
