Watching the Sox is almost as boring as watching soccer.

The only way I'd watch soccer is they'd have to do a Clockwork Orange on me.

It’s like watching the paint dry. And the Patriots are a couple of months away. I thought they would be better this year, instead they are the 6th worst team in baseball.
And BresLOW is still working for them,

Disgusting

I will guess Yoshida won't be leading off tomorrow, despite his OBP

I realize that Duran is not hitting well but I'd rather see him up on the off chance of a HBP

I would also tape Mayer's arm so he can't swing

Getting the leadoff man on hasn't ended well for the Sox. The reason this Sox offense isn't more consistent in scoring a respectable amount of runs is that most in this line-up aren't good hitters. Sometimes the answer is that simple.

And the lack of hitting is even worse when there's RISP.

3 teams in the AL have failed to win 40 games by mid-June.  But they have lost 40 or more.

Sox have 4 fewer GP and 4 fewer losses than Royals and Angels.

All are stuck on 29 wins , so let's celebrate the first to 30

Gasper may be a nice feel good story for a low ceiling #2 catcher, or backup 1B.

But no way is he a key player on a competitive team over 162 game season. Is he better  than Narvaez so far ? That's on Carlos

0-30 when trailing by 3 runs or more. Do you realize how difficult that is to do?

They don't call them "The Comeback Kids" for nothing.

There is a reason that Ryan Watson was exposed to the Rule 5 draft. Because he sucks.

I checked the Internet and discovered that there's a measurement for suckage. It's called Pascals  I believe the Sox would have a high amount of Pascals.

With Early and Tolle beginning to regress, the Sox season can only get worse. Yes, Virginia, there is a cellar under the basement.

As I wrote in Sunday’s game thread: Rookie pitcher hits rough patch. Film at 11.

The league has adjusted to them, now they have to adjust back. They are also still getting used to the major league norm of 4-5 days rest between starts.  The minors play 6 game series against 1 opponent Tuesday through Sunday (Monday is always an off day).  Starting pitchers start once a week with 6 days off in between.

Tolle gave up 3 solo homers in 5 innings.  Not great but with a competent offense it still should give you a chance.  The offense scored 1 run.  They had chances against Cease early and failed to take advantage of it.  He’s too good not to do some damage when he gives you the opportunity. Score a couple there and the whole bullpen usage changes and so might the result.

He’s not good, but he’s the 8th guy in the pen.  He’s out there to eat innings in unwinnable games.  Anything positive is a bonus.

With an 0-30 record when behind by 3 runs you're correct when you say the game was unwinnable.

If Mayer never swung he would walk a lot. Chasing and pulling up, up and away  Marcelo has no chance

This seems true for more than just Mayer.

I wonder where we are ranked in swings at balls outside the K zone.

How about Pythagorean? (They have us at 34-36.)
