I hope Yoshi has a big game but he will clog the bases if he does get on.

What analytic led to this decision ?

He does have a better OBP than Duran and everyone in the line-up not batting 2-3-4 and...

Fun fact:

The 1950 Red Sox scored 1,027 runs in 154 games. They finished 4 games behind the Yankems. That's the most runs put up by a  team in post war MLB . The 1931 Yankems scored 1,067 runs.

If Mayer never swung he would walk a lot. Chasing and pulling up, up and away  Marcelo has no chance

Fun fact:

Another post war fact. In the 4 WS the Sox were in prior to 2004 they had a record of 12-16. All 4 losses went 7 games. In the 4 WS wins from 2004 to the present the SOX have a record of 16-3.

Putrid Red Sox ABs are per usual

That was a miserable follow through on a leadoff double by our one youngish guy who is outperforming expectations.

Miserable is not the right adjective.  Familiar or predictable come to mind.
