I care about how the FLOPS do relative to the other teams. Thats different than caring how the other teams are doing. For example, I care that the flops finish above the Yankmees, but I don’t care how the yankmees finish other than that they finish below the FLOPS.

Thanks Old Red. I think I have a pretty good handle on why this franchise SUCKS and has sucked for years. Talented players don’t want to come here because the owner isn’t committed to winning like the owners and management of the other three major MA sports teams. Henry gives lip service to wanting to compete but as far as I’m concerned he’s whistling Dixie. I can see right through him. The few players on the roster who actually do have talent probably aren’t giving it their best effort-and why should they? Ownership and management aren’t doing their part to win.

They rank 15th in payroll.  They don't have one of the highest payrolls, they are middle of the pack.

Sportrac has them 11th on labor payroll and 6th in luxury tax.

You’re only selecting part of his prediction.  He predicted they would win more games than last year - meaning 90+ - and still miss the postseason.  

And technically , they haven’t “finished” anywhere yet…

I agree. When they are playing this bad, it's nice to be able to skip a few of the games or at least only check in towards the end. They'll slowly trudge back closer to .500 over the course of the summer as long as the rotation can get healthy.
