IMO all these everyday rotations in the OF, IF and DH are taxing the team. We don’t have an everyday lineup. This platoon obsession by Cora and Breslow is hurting this team. Your titular team has to see lefties and righties. Period. Explain how Mayer is going to grow as a hitter putting IKF, who btw is a bum, when we face lefties. I simply don’t get it.

I agree.  If we had a lefty-killer, then I'd platoon (occasionally).  But I'd rather see Mayer v a lefty than IKF.

If this gets 10 games behind 500 heads must role, and it won’t matter if it’s still April.

On the bright side, we aren't being subject to long-term torture.  These are pretty quick affairs.  And we aren't suffering the pain of a 5-4 loss in the 9th inning.

Last year they had Ref Man, and Romy to platoon. This year it’s IKF, and Mon Man.🤭

Agreed, but the Sox manager thinks it’s criminally negligent to allow left-handed hitters to face left-handed pitchers…

He is nothing more than a late inning defensive replacement.  He is a zero offensively.  It would have been nice to have IKF as Devers' defensive replacement, but we know how that went.

The thing with IKF, you get the glove.  Hes not a viable platoon option if you’re trying to get right-handed hitting.  You hit him 9th and accept the defense as his contribution for the day.

But Monasterio?  He has made 5 starts this year, batting 2, 2, 2, 5, 6, all vs LHP.   Does anyone think Cora is even aware he is giving top batting order spots and a DH role vs lefties to a guy WITH A .298 OPS VS LHP?!?

IKF was a terrible addition but hey he came cheap {sorta}

He should be playing more than a half of the actual lineup.

Embarrassed by the Yankees in back to back games.

This Red Sox Front office should be ASHAMED of itself!

Like I said, Henry owes us an apology

Watching the Dodgers/ Giants game and one of the guys in the Giants' booth mentioned how well Devers has been playing 1st base. The other guy in the Giants' booth responded that we shouldn't be surprised because Devers won a gold glove playing with Boston.

They meant “he fielded like his glove was made of solid gold”…

I've never heard them apologize.

I have heard them LIE to our faces.

Tom Werner’s explanation for the full throttle comment was even stupider and somehow less honest…

If Henry cared about winning, he would fire Breslow and the whole front office tonight. This roster is a joke. The season is over before May 1st. Pathetic.

Red Sox teams under Cora are not successful.  Cora is there because of the ownership.  The root cause of the problems isn't Breslow it's the Ownership and Cora.  Breslow is no Dombrowski but he's also no Bloom.  He's a league average GM working under a weak ownership team and with the worst manager in baseball.  That's a lot of problems to fix for Boston to be great again.  Clearly when Dombrowski worked for these same owners he was successful, so a GM upgrade is needed but Cora has absolutely no managerial skills he simply speaks two languages.  That's not enough to win unless you have a monster roster like in 2018.  Breslow can NOT produce that stellar roster, so a better manager is desperately needed and an upgrade at GM is desperately needed.  We have lost enough years now that ownership should have motivation to hire the right people to win again but that's yet to be seen.

Keeping Cora as manager and it just may be worse.

I've been a huge Cora supporter for a long time. I'm not sure firing him is a good idea, but this team looks listless and rudderless.

I always hesitate to blame the manager, when the players underperform, and maybe these guys were just not as good as some of us felt they were/are, but it looks like something needs shaking up, and Cora is not the guy to make major moves that involve sitting vets or moving them off positions they no longer belong.

IKF has also been kinda bad historically against LHP.

And this year he's been laughably bad: 143 OPS!

He sees a RHB and a LHP, he platoons. It's what he does numbers be damned.

Done with him.

You think these people know shame?!?!? After all the things they've done since 2019!

The reason his WAR numbers are so good in 2019 is because he had a good defensive season. He led AL 3B's in OAA and FRV. He didn't win a GG and wasn't one of the two runners up either.
