Sox are probably closely monitoring his recovery and may not deem him ready for games yet (but if they are, they'll never admit it, lest this administration shows some kind of org weakness).

In the meantime, IKF is a key guy. Better get used to it -- he may just remind Cora of himself in his playing days: a career utility man who can play all over the infield and give you a positive dWAR.

I have no evidence of the AC-IKF connection, but Alex did announce he took him to dinner last week...

Can’t believe it’s already ST chatter time feels yesterday we were complaining about the cold and now we’re hyped over who gets a couple at‑bats. Always fun watching how quickly the lineup shuffles and seeing who actually looks ready to stick around when this whole thing gets real.

Opening day preview (except Suarez on the mound)?  Regarding no Mayer - Im starting to think he might begin in AAA, which I dont hate.  No shade intended, just want him to get ready at his own pace - because it could be a big season for him. Hes done what the team asked (put on weight) so he'll get his chance.  Just think hes a bit behind game shape at the moment, but its intentional and expected , not a knock or an omen.

Not loving IKF as our starting 2nd baseman, but yeah, I've no problem with Mayer starting in AAA. He has a lot to prove right now.

But this is almost certainly the starting lineup with 2nd up for grabs.
