Huh? Is this spring training, or regular season where games are actually counting?🙈🤭🤮

Right.

So you think the plan to get to the Promised Land is more Sogard, IKF and Monasterio?

who is starting?  In any case, I can agree with this.  This is like that soft sell that I am talking about.  You trade IKF and move Durbin into a bench role.  Why? Durbin is younger and still has pre-arb years and IKF is a pure band-aid.

Right now , with IKFs hot streak at hte plate and ability to cover multiple positions, hes the type of guy that can get you something.  Durbin is just plain selling low and giving away a guy with pre-arb years left who can at least field a position, so of the 2 , I think IKF makes a ton more sense as a "we are not selling.  We are not throwing in the towel.....But we are going to start making some moves around the margins that suggest we're getting close to selling"

Durbin just doesn't have the ceiling that Mayer does. You can put him on the bench and move him around the IF willy nilly. I'd still send him to AAA to give him a reset and see if he can get some confidence back. It's more important to spend time and really figure out how to fix Mayer or just trade him.

I think guys like Seigler/Capra/Gasper/Sogard/Monasterio are all somewhat interchangeable and it doesn't matter who starts. Just go with whoever has the hot hand and it playing better at the time.

I think Ward would be an interesting piece for the right team. Here? I don't know what one more single per game does for this team TBH.

Both Mayer and Durbin are having some learning curves, which is not surprising.  Sogard has the hotter bar today, but he is a career .683 OPS hitter for his career and his last 34 PA are most likely just a hot streak.  And I have my doubts Mayer and Durbin will learn to better hit MLB pitching by facing AAA pitching…

That’s what counts at the moment is TODAY.  Tracy/Breslow is looking for any signs of life they can find in a bat,  and that’s why the Great Gasper is catching as much as he has.

Short term while they are hitting. Yes!

No, they should play the players that aren't hitting!

Haven’t they already tried that?🤔

Silly BTV accepts:

Mayer, Duran, Bello, Durbin & Phillips

for

Neto

More like useless BTV, and MH would be more realistic.

are you advocating for 5 bench players?  I like it

Ward at 2b.  Figured you’d be all over that, Mr Positions Don’t Matter…

You should ask the question about if they are having Ward fielding IF during practice in the other thread.

Duran has been one of the best players in BB this month.

He has turned it around.

Maybe he can get over .700 by early June, mid .700s by the end of June and maybe near or over .800 in July.

The bullpen lost some games, but if the offense is 29th in runs scored at Home, I think the offense is playing a part in every game being too close for comfort. You can't force every game to be a highwire act for your pitchers.

I agree.  You can't go on a run without winning a few games by 4-5 runs.  Every game 3 runs or under requires Slaten/Whitlock/Chapman.

My point being that, if a player can go from being bad to being great, this quickly, then we probably aren't using a big enough sample size.

I guess some other GM traded for Harrison.

you guys are nuts. i can't believe you keep defending the horrible job your GM has done. the return for Devers is now Durbin and Monostereo. LOLOL....what a f***ing joke of a trade. literally every move he makes turns to s***. not to mention the fact that the team he has built is in last place and last or nearly so in every offensive category. yeah....you and Brady keep fluffing for him.

Yup, and guys like IKF, who play way less than Duran can jump hundreds of points in a matter of a few games.

One thing that happens often is when a player starts slowly, his numbers look bad for so long, people tend to write them off.

How is pointing out Brez traded for Harrison "defending him." Are you saying he didn't.

Many bashed Brez for making the trade, because Harrison gave us nothing. Nobody blinked when we traded him. Now, we are all experts and Brez is the idiot.

Of course, the Durbin trade looks like crap. I'm not defending it. The Priester trade looked awful, too. Now, it's kinda TBD.

Maybe if posters would stop talking in absolutes, like saying "every move he makes turns to sh**, we wouldn't have to point out the fallacy of the statement. Then when we do, you assume we are defending him.

Was the Crochet trade Sh**?

The Contreras & Suarez signings?

The Gray trade?

The O'Neill trade?

The Chapman signing and extension?

Not only was your statement wrong, you used the word "literally" to emphasize that EVERY move he makes is wrong. There is no need to be untruthful to make the point we kinda all agree on: Brez has made too many mistakes.

The Harrison trade sucks, but I'm not so sure he does this well had he stayed with BOS. The Brewers seem to have a magical potent that turns no-names into princes then they gat hurt and become pumpkins.

BTW, would you trade YRod, Holobetz and Phillips for an injured Priester, right now? I'm not sure I would or would not, but in just a matter of one month, the view can change.

Brez made a major blunder, this past winter. Almost all of us agreed that a big bat was needed beyond Willson. The idea that better pitching plus Durbin would make up for it, was horribly wrong. I really like the Suarez addition, but the hole in the line-up cancels that out and then some.

I hope you guys get what you want- we can all the bums, and the guys we get to replace them are so good, you all (and I) will never bitch again. (Funny, right?)

Now posting 9th for TS MOOn DUBIN. I Know you think it’s your job to defend, or apologize every time someone says something about #12 LOW Brez you don’t like, or anyone else like JH. Like I said before if Fred says JH is cheap 1000 times you’ll come back, and say is not, is not, is not 1000 times back. For all your time, and effort you never change anyone’s mind. Everyone sees things how they want to see them, and you’re not changing that no matter how hard, or many times you try. Lots of fans out there, and there is more, and more everyday want the Red Sox lose, because they despise JH, Sam, and #12 LOWbrez so much, and you’re not going to stop that either. It’s not a gift. It’s a curse.🙈

The Red Sox started the just completed home stand 5 games under 500. After going 1-5 on that home stand they now sit at 9 games under 500, and 9-19 at not so friendly Fenway.  Once again this team deserves all the Fred’s, and Mad Stork’s of the world, and then some. The funny part on here is the ones who try to tell Fred, and Stork they are wrong. That’s worth the price of admission.

I think this sums things up pretty well. The fans are getting restless everyday, and that’s going to get worse too if things don’t turn around soon. Planes with banners circling Fenway saying fire Brez, and sell. Bagheads at Fenway, and booing like yesterday with chants of sell the team. Well deserved all of it. Bloom was despised pretty bad, but I believe #12 LOW Brez is despised even more.

On pace for the worst ever home record at Fenway. There isn't an appropriate emoji for this.

No there isn’t an emoji, but as CWG would say we’re on threshold of hell.
