Just got word from the local athletic dept: those HRs by Stanton and Story would've been homers in only one other ballpark in town -- the Little League field that Park Street cuts off and shortens along the right field fence.

It would be one thing if the umps could call balls/strikes consistently, but they don't.  Why do they think the robo ump is coming ?

Oh yeah.  The thing is the teams that reach the LLWS tend to have early maturers because at that age that means a ton.  Most never do much after LL because other players catch up to them physically.  But there are a few kids among the qualifying teams that will find there way to pro ball eventually.  A couple of Sox have: Varitek played as a ss at the LLWS  way back when.  Rafaela played for Curaçao in 2013.

Time to drop Duran in the batting order.  He's having a lousy August and he has the worst case of RISP disease I can remember.  Not even the soothing waters of Yankee Stadium can heal him.

I like umps making all the calls.  No other sport has a machine making the calls on what amounts to 80% of the game.  

I would be fine if the batter had the right to challenge call, but with a penalty if he's wrong.
