It is one thing to get beat by a better team but it's altogether different  to lose to a weak team.

The hitting is beyond poor

Weak team. I believe the Sox resemble that remark.

These guys are not marginal.   I'm mad but not stupid.  Anthony, Bregman, Abreu, Story, Rafaela, Duran, Narvaez, Gonzalez, Anthony, and Ref are good.  I suspect Lowe is too.  Crochet, Bello, and Giolito are the best 1st/2d/3d starters for the Sox in a long time.  Buehler and May have both had good starts (and bad).  The Sox are ranked 2d in MLB in quality starts.  The bullpen has stunk recently, but tonight they were great--`1 ER in 7 freaking innings.  Chapman, Whitlock, Weissert, Wilson, Bernardino, and Matz are all great to good to decent relievers.

But are they playing lousy right now?  They sure are.  In 11 inning's they had exactly one good hit--by Lowe.  They were 0 for freaking 14 with RISP.  Buehler only lasted 4 IP and gave up 2 runs.

Tori is a marginal player.  He was the guy in that spot and we paid for it.  We have a better player there we win but we stick with Toro and it beats us

If Toro had bunted toward first the game would be over

Wonder who forgot to tell him to do that….hmmm

Cora has made way too many mistakes. Just like Henry and Breslow. I hope we get swept in NY and the fans boycott Fenway.
This crap is all too familiar. It’s why I labeled the team the FLOPS. It’s accurate

The Sox tonight were 0/14 with RISP. so don't try to blame this on one guy.

In fact, the Sox only had one good hit tonight.  'The first run came on a balk.

And how about that 8th inning when the Sox had the bases loaded and Duran, Story, and Yoshida whiffed?

Wong might be called a marginal player, but he's a darn good catcher who ain't hitting, except tonight he had 2 hits,

This loss was on the lineup, pure and simple.

Sounds like the April and May Sox.

Regardless tonight’s result, Toro’s days in Sox uniform have come to an end IMO. Call up Campbell and Grissom and keep develop them. This team is not ready to contend yet anyways. We are still a couple of years away.

Cora needs to go

Not on Cora.  Sox runner on 3b took off when the ball was hit.  Between him and the 3d base coach neither seemed to know there was just one out.

one stupid play after another. great job Cora, you stupid f***ing idiot. and oh!, not sending the fastest guy on the team from third....brilliant!!

Look at the replay,  The guy on 3b took off when the ball was hit, so he had no chance of getting back to 3b to tag up and then run home.  Between him and the 3b coach, neither knew there was just one out.

The Sox are the worst bunters in the entire history of MLB. Any fair bunt leads to champagne in the club house.  And I blame that on sabermetrics.

You could be right, but I'm going to keep watching the games.

Cora should have made sure EVERYONE knew there’s one out. That’s his job. He’s made too many mistakes. This team has to be almost completely torn down, preferably from the very top. There are maybe 6-8 players I’d keep.

We all are.
Diehards. But the team blows.

Oh-they’ll keep Toro. He fits right in. He’ll be in the starting lineup in NY.

Me too but they have to do what is the best for the future. Look at Baltimore, They are giving plenty ABs to their youngsters. They’ll be more ready for next year and moving forward. We have to do the same and forget about the results. As I said, we are not going anywhere anyways. Campbell and Grissom have nothing else to prove in AAA.

I don't care if they are playing the Yankees, I can't watch this crap

For the first time ever as a Flops fan I am ambivalent about them beating the Yankmees. Might be best to just get swept and put this season to rest for everyone.
Then tear it down this winter.

this is ********. YOU need to go back and look at the replay. he took off after if was caught but either he or the 3B coach decided he shouldn't go. dumb as hell. Eaton should have run.

Cora said they decided pregame not to challenge that "elite" arm in center. This is why his team loves him, because he always covers for them with the media...

... because we all know there's no possible way such a pregame meeting ever went like this:

"Now, remember -- if we ever totally choke and leave the bases loaded in the 8th, 9th, and 10th innings, and trail by one in the 11th, whatever you do, don't send our fastest runner home on a fly ball to center!"

The Sox don’t need to stick with Toro.  It’s a choice one guy keeps making…

I'd hate to hear what you think about teams you are not a fan of.

On the Toro must go bandwagon thing, I ask, what took you guys so long?

I'm still not sure Max wants him gone.

He's been a mega drain since the Devers trade. That wasn't yesterday.

1B is a position for .800+ OPS guys or a .750 guy with 30 dingers.

Two: Cora and Brez.

Brez could have taken Cora's option away.
