True; my response was more for those who want Narvaez in the lineup every day.

How about making Masa the back-up catcher? How hard could it be? He's got the legs for a catcher.

I'm not the Lady in White, but I'm wearing a white t-shirt, I started watching the game live in the 5th inning, and guys to be transparent, I think I've watched a Sox game live about twice this year for an inning or two...mostly follow games on DVR and then condensed games on highlights...I just couldn't watch this team "fail." LOL

Love that comeback and  power surge to get on track.

Crochet was excellent to hold it at 1-0  until Abreu-Bregman-Abreu gave the BP some relief room.

So Crochet is the Stopper today...that's what it is all about, stops losing streaks in their tracks...important to winning baseball in general

He needs help . A reliable #2 should be top priority if we are buyers.

SP, backup catcher, 1b---probably all should be on the Breslow radar

If they are going all in, yes. I don’t think they have the talent to compete for a ring or to even make a deep run IF they make the playoffs. They have the nucleus of that team but they’re not there yet.

Toughen up.  I look forward to every game and have not given up on this team.

Today was pretty much a payback after those first two miserable games at Wrigley.  Crochet once again showed a ton of heart--plus 6 IP and 1 ER.  And wham!!!  3 freaking dingers for 6 freaking runs.  Gotta love Bregman pinch-hitting for Yoshida and getting his first dinger since returning.  It took Abreu 2 dingers to bring in 3 runs.

Also a shout out to Narvaez because I think he caught a heckuva game.  There should have been at least 2 wild pitches.

LOL NESN picks Bregman as Star of the Game--try Abreu. Also 21 three-run jacks for Sox is 2nd in MLB

Agree on Abreu, but Crochet showed a ton of heart today as well as 1 run in 6 IP.

I've said this before, admire some of the long-timers here and their passion. I just don't have the time that I had before--lot of stuff going on life-wise. I follow the B's on the other board. Can only do so much, ha

no question, Crochet is almost always the best player for Sox when he starts

He can’t play every day. We need a new backup catcher.

He can play just about everyday, if he DHs, when Bello pitches.

It felt like we'd get shut out again.  Glad to see Abreu and Bregman step up.  Anthony getting on base.  Another gut it out win for Crochet.

You guys were all right: our offense is BRUTAL!

You are correct.
Not scoring a run for 21 straight innings is absolutely brutal, irrespective of the excellent finish to this game.

Keep up the O bashing. It works.

Rays lose, Yanks and BJ's win.  A reasonable outcome for a slow starting team after the break.

I want to know how much the Stat Masterson anal-ysts are making out the lineup vs  AC  and coaches with some baseball sense.?

We have 2 more LH'ers coming up ( I think) in Phillie.   Put the "A": lineup on and win 2  of 3 there.

Bregman, Abreu, Anthony, Rafaela (cf ONLY), Narvaez, Story...these guys have to be in lineup every day

Meh.  Bregman needs to ease back into playing every game.  Narvaez can't catch more than about 2/3 of the games.  Rafaela, Story, and Anthony already play every game.  Except for being on the IL for 2 weeks, Abreu has played about 90% of the games.

Cora seems to lead the league in creative lineups. Defensive players out of position, hitters wondering where they will fall in the lineup if at all.  While lineups change often it seems Cora just picks names out of a hat.

Great win today! Every team goes through offensive funks, so we can't hang our heads too low about the first two games of this series. Will be interesting to see how this translates to Philly, with Wheeler and Sanchez on the mound the next two nights. Got to take things one series at a time at this point. Thankfully we have a little bit of a buffer now between the last WC spot and the first team out.

Wheeler and Sanchez. That's not gonna be much fun. Especially considering who will be starting for the Sox.
