Arguably the worst offensive player in MLB, excluding pitchers.

He follows up with hitting into double play.

The march of the relief W's:  Whitlock, Wilson and Weissert combine about 40 pitches to get 6 outs.

Crochet uncharacteristically left the door open today for the BP to have to hold and win the game.

Sox should add a few runs here to survive until Chapman can come in.

Should have been an easier win, and still 6 outs from over . After the 4-0 first inning, another blowout was on the table but .....

It feels like a struggle to put this one away, even with Chapman in the 8th

Btw, anyone know what year Slaten's due back?

He is on the 60 day list, earliest is July 28, if the shoulder inflammation  subsides.

He was moved to the 60 day IL on June 28; the date of his original 15 day stint was May 29.

All of which means he can’t come back before July 28 give or take a day.

I’m glad Cora didn’t listen to all the idiots who didn’t think Rafaela was a major league level player and wanted him benched/traded/sent to minors because he “can’t hit.”

At the time, he couldn't hit , only chase .  Someone got to him and he changed his approach significantly, leading to his current success which is most welcome.  H

I might put Weissert on the 10 day IL.

Pitchers have to be put on the 15 day DL.

10 day IL is for position players only.

That being said, it might not be a bad idea; the ASB takes up 4 days of the stint, so 11 games max.  He could use the rest.

Even when he wasn’t hitting, he was providing elite defense. He was always a good player, now he’s turning into a REALLY good player

I believe that even Moon gave up on his ability with a bat.

A sweep on the road is a big win for this team.

Jordan Hicks using 23 pitches ( throws) to close it out.   Not impressive.

If the Sox trade Chapman before the TDL, this season is ovah. What the FO should do is re-sign him for '26.

Unless you want Hicks or a fragile Slaten as the future closers.

If anyone's interested, ESPN is televising the Cornhole World Pro Tour.

Reminded me of watching the movie Dodgeball last night.    .      "If you can't dodge a wrench, you can't dodge a ball." Rip Torn was awesome in that movie.

I've always been a big Rafaela fan and thought his contract was worth it for what we were getting even if what we got last season was his level, but calling people that doubted him idiots is a bit much, especially with hindsight.

He had shown little with the bat.

We should just be relieved their last names don't start with L's.
