Sox have hit Castillo alright in the past. I said the same about Yarbrough though.

In his start against Seattle earlier this season, Garrett Crochet surrendered four runs on five hits and five walks over five innings in a 4-3 Red Sox loss.

Who goes when Yoshida and Abreu returns?

It's got to me Eaton and Hamilton, unless it's Campbell.

I'd be surprised if they sent down Campbell at this point. Hamilton has been one of the worst players in MLB this year and has options.

Just looked up rock bands from Seattle and, IMHO, Pearl Jam is nowhere near the best.

Personally, I wouldn't own a Pearl Jam album even if it was free.

Btw, Neil Young is given credit for introducing what is referred to as grunge music.

Cora sees himself in Hamilton. A below average ballplayer.

He hit the ball.  Campbell didn't just strike out.  He was completely by 3 pitches in the middle of the strike zone.. Despite his good start (eons ago) Campbell is the one guy on this teamwho can't field and can't hit.  Yes, he can play CF, but not nearly as well as Rafaela.

Campbell is not even a good outfielder. The guy is tagging up and he doesn't get back to get behind the ball so he can fire to 3B. He is really not athletic.

Campbell has a much higher ceiling than Hammy. But then, so does a dog house.

By now everyone should know I defend Cora relentlessly.  However, watching Crochet today convinces me that Cora let him pitch too long--into the 9th inning--5 days ago.  At the time, I was delighted, but now I have the gift of 50-50 hindsight.

I missed the wild pitch.  Was it catchable by Wong?

Thanks.  I was on the road when that play occurred.

No doubt.  But how long will that take?

Sox sole run after 3 is by the rookie Mayer.   Plus the single by Wong.  Otherwise, not even a walk.

No.  Crochet spiked a changeup and it hopped up about 5 feet.  Bench or Pudge Rodriguez wouldn’t have stopped it.

I thought Hammy would be the odd man out when Bregman returns, but no way can Campbell break into an infield of Bregman, Mayer, Short, and Toro.  If Christian is going to be a sub, wouldn't he better off back in Worcester, or is that no longer possible?

Duran has hands of stone.

Ball was in the sun the whole way out there; he didn’t see it.

Campbell’s inexperience hurt there; if the more experienced Cedanne is in CF, maybe he calls off Duran since he had a better angle.

Maybe a decade ago I think it was a starter named Mussina who said that starters normally had a mix of starts.  One when everything was working and it was a joy to be on the mound.  One when not every thing was working, but overall he was good enough.  Finally there was the bad day at black rock.

Today Crochet is nowhere near where he was 5 days ago.   I think it is his determination and overall ability that have kept him that middle zone.  He could go 6 and not give up more than 1 more run.

And that gets us back to the hitting.  Where is it?  Some would answer "in San Francisco," but they lost night too.

Wow!  Story is the answer!  He is having a very good June, and those 2 runs were huge.
