So basically all the waiting for Anthony was basically dithering by the FO , until one of the OF'er got an injury.

I do hope Anthony gets acclimated quick and rips  the ball.  Can't wait to see approach at bat.  After watching some of the Rafaela/ Campbell AB's ,  I'm thinking Anthony and Mayer 's readiness will puta spotlight on the coaching at Worcester and the Sox MLB hitting strategies.

Did I miss the Wilyer Abreu injury or is this an injury of the phantom type?

He came in last night as a pinch hitter and finished the game in right field and looked fine so I’m honestly not sure.

I didn't think there was any apparent injury.  That said, he hasn't been right at the plate for a while, so maybe he has something nagging that's been going on.

No doubt, it was mvp claiming he had an injured groin because some anonymous guy on the internet told him so.

I’m sorry you had a bad weekend because the lowly Sox beat your fave.

I just think that it is about time.  All 3 of those kids are here.  It gives me another reason to watch them.

2025: 140 wRC+, 2.7 fWAR, 5th Av Exit Velo in MLB, #1 Hard Hit %

2025 Offseason: WBC 920 OPS, youngest player to ever hit a HR in the semis or finals, All-WBC team, 9th in offseason jersey sales

2026 Opening Day: 3-4, 3 H, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 R

Seems to be going pretty good so far!

51 years ago, a couple of Sox rookies took the team to within one game of its first ring in many years.

Both Lynn & Rice had over 600 PAs and finished 1-2 in ROY voting, as well as 1-3 in MVP voting.

Fred Lynn: .331  21 105 (.401/.566/.967) Led the league in SLG & OPS.

Jim Rice: .309  22 102 (.350/.491/.841)

I'm not trying to put Anthony and Mayer in the same class as those two, but it does seem like many teams that go far are given major boosts by a rookie or two. (I know, Anthony is not technically a "rookie," but he's close enough for me.)

i remember that. that was the season i became a Sox fan.

i wouldn't bother penciling in either for the MVP, when half the clowns that vote already had Judge marked down before the season began.

It would be a record #5 AL MVP for Judge. If Cal couldn't win it last season, nobody else can. Eventually, Judge will fall off, but they'll just keep giving it to him for now.

He was a FA. Anybody could have signed him.

But wearing stripes means something -- that uniform design was introduced in New York in the 1820s for prison uniforms.

I became a Sox fan in '72, but that 1975 season got me hooked.
