So with Buehler out, Dobbins back for another plug & play start, and Casas looking at the potential end of his Red Sox career as a significant player, the roster shuffle  can begin .

Casas  situation shows how one misstep can alter a lifetime ( to date) of work and talent .  I'll venture that the Red Sox will move on at 1B , bypassing  Triston, even while he eventually recovers from the injury .  He will never get the big contract to secure his future.  In fact, his future will more likely be holding the microphone than the bat.    He will be around for a couple of more ST  , then some team will take a chance on his repaired knee and maybe he can play again .

There is no Marcelo Mayer story.  Sox called up Abraham Toro and Romney is at first base.

you have a platoon first base.

Some of these injuries were known ahead of the season, but damn...

Crawford, Gio, Bello, Sandoval, Fitts and now Buehler

Hendriks, Wong, Yoshida and now Casas.

A real manager would inform Devers that he's the new 1st baseman. Unfortunately, Cora would rather be a player's best friend than a manager.

Hire Merloni as the new Sox manager.

This team needs a winning streak or something. You can’t win one then drop two or win two and then drop the next two. Right now they don’t have that winning consistency.

No. Put Grissom there or even Yoshida when ready.

You don’t just shove a guy into a position he’s never played before.  First base may be the easiest position to play, but there are still techniques and plays that need to be learned.  Throwing anyone in there with zero notice is detrimental to the team, and that is is something a manager needs to avoid.

I remember when a need arose at 3B many years ago.  Yaz (a great LF and a decent 1B) volunteered to man the position.  It was an utter disaster.

Should Rafi start taking some infields and  working with the coaches on footwork, etc?  Probably.  In a game less than 24 hours after the injury?  No.

The more I see Dobbins the more I like the kid. He does not mess around.  He’s not afraid to pound the strike zone.

I wasn't implying that Devers start playing 1st today.. I was reacting to Cora being dead set against it happening at all.

Hamilton is not only awful at hitting but at fielding. He can’t throw the ball to save his life. DFA this bum!

Time to definitely bring up Anthony. Duran plays CF and Anthony in left. It's an no-brainer. That's why I posted it .

Yep, wake up Brez. He needs to learn what? Production over anything else. You don't think that this #1 prospect is not better than Rafaela? My opinion of Brez is going down fast.

If Wong had let the double steal happen the Sox would be ahead now. Instead, he fouls the ball off and then hits into a double play.. stupid baseball.

But Yaz moved from LF to first and was pretty good.

He's having a horrible year.

Black holes.....Rafaela, Hamilton, Wong

Anthony, Anthony, Anthony.....Just hang on tight to him at AAA. I can see that he's getting better against inferior competition.

When the Sox score 4 or less runs, their record is disgusting.

When they score no runs their record is pathetic

Red Sox 0-11 when trailing after 6. That’s says a lot about clutch hitting
