Maybe Houck will have a better game tonight? Aside from Santander, the better Jays hitters are RH.

Vlad RH

Bo RH

Kirk RH

Springer RH

Houck's results haven't been too hot so far.

Campbell in CF, tonight and batting 7th.

DHam at 2B batting 8th.

Narvaez at C batting 9th.

The first 6 are as the norm.

Wishful thinking on my part, but I was hoping that once we overcame the 1-4 start to get 2 games above .500, we would not see .500 anymore this season.  Let's at least not go below that mark please.

What the heck is "the norm?"

The first 6 have been the same vs RH'd SP'ers just about every game.

1. All games Duran

2. All games Devers

3. All games Bregman

4. All games vs RH'ers Casas, except 1 dbl header gm  (Ref & Abreu vs LH'd SP)

5. All games Story, except game 4, when he was rested

The "norm" seems clear, to me, so far...

Fried pitched a gem for the Yanks. 7 IP, 5H, 0ER, 0BB, 11Ks

Flaherty went 5.1 for DET w 0 ER, but DET lost 4-3.

D Williams made it close by allowing 3 ERS in the 9th.

i believe that is 4 errors for Bregman already this year?  Is he really an upgrade over Devers at this point defensively?

Cora's answer is yes, because the Red Sox lead the majors in double plays turned this year.

6 out of 12 outs so far by strikeout.   These types of k rates will kill this team.  Inability to put the ball in play  is a real problem

Now 8 of 15 outs by K, over 50%    But I guess Blue Jays have excellent pitching and our pitchers should be throwing shutouts every night.

Now 10 K's of 18 outs.     Wasted both of Raffy's doubles.

Meanwhile Houck is pitching a good game with a major assist from Casas on the rocket to 1B, turning into a DP

You really need to ask?

For those not watching on NESN, OB just said, "the Red Sox are so much better when they put the ball in play."

That is verbatim.

I replied, "And Gausman is so much better when the ump's strike zone is the armpits to the ankles, and the plate is two feet wide."

Pretty clear that HP ump wants to get it done.     Works both ways, if he is consistent,
