Too bad Chris Martin is a head case. He might have covered an inning here today, say the 10th ?

No problem, I'm rolling with Cam Booser

I'm guessing Cooper and Dalbec discuss hitting between innings.

Cooper at least had a moderately successful first 7 years in the majors. Not great, but not awful. He was even an all-star 2 years ago (I’ll concede he was probably Miami's mandatory player)

Except for 1/2 a year, Dalbec is a never was.

Booser with an unusual approach to pitching in a closing situation. he throws first pitch strikes, then 2nd pitch strikes, then K's the bastards. Or induces a weak fly ball, for the game winner. Back to .500 .

Chicago starts its next losing streak

He was not.

2022 NL Cy Young winner Sandy Alcantara was also on that team…

Booser is like a low cal version of Randy Myers. He brings the heat, follows it up with more heat, and then changes speeds by throwing even harder…

I remember NESN's TC saying that the SOX could split a 3 game series.

One win, one loss, one postponement?

My second or maybe third favorite all-time Bruins' player had the first name Cam.

I would DFA Smith, Dalbec and Cooper. Send Westbrook back. Valdez is on thin ice. If Hamilton can hit .250 or better (now at .282) he is useful on this team. Those other guys are dead weight.

A 2-2 split. We can call it the best completely unacceptable series outcome…

Well, the White Sox did sweep the Guardians in a 3 game series earlier in the season.

Hamilton, imho, was the #1 star for the SOX today.

I don't like Cooper, and that last at bat by Dalbec convinced me he has to go back or be DFA'd or whatever.

With this split the White Sox manager took his players out for ice cream.

Speaking of which, if the White Sox decide to fire their current manager, they should definitely interview Billy Bob Thornton for the job.

Nicely said. Alex should take his players . . . well, never mind.

You must have missed his first AB.

He may have earned a DFA before today, but not based on today.

Speaking of all-stars; at this point in the season the only player on the SOX, imho, who has earned a spot on the all-star team is Houck.

Maybe Devers, but definitely Houck.

Duran is tied for 7th in AL fWAR. He deserves at least a reserve slot.

Devers should be a lock. (13th in AL fWAR and career high OPS)

As of now, Houck should start the AS game.

Slaten should be a lock. He's 3rd in fWAR among RP'ers.

I'd say we end up with 3-4. (Crawford needs to regain the magic to make it.

As bad as Crawford has looked, recently, he still has the 9th best fWAR in the AL

Duran is 8th in MLB bWAR

Devers is 7th in MLB OPS, 10th offensive win %

Houck is 4th in MLB bWAR for pitchers, 2nd ERA, 3rd WHIP, 3rd IP, 2nd ERA+

I don’t think fans voting for an all star game vote on stats like this, or even look at stats like this for the most part.

Plenty of fans do, actually.

Fangraphs has a rather large community that posts on their articles, all of whom buy into their advanced stat models. Heck, I’ve seen people citing StatCast data on Yahoo Fantasy Forums, where there is no category for exit velocity or barrel percentage.

Those type of stats are more popular than you realize.

In fact, I bet fWAR is one of the most popular stats for voting for All Stars, if not the most popular…
