Those same Braves who you credit for seeing something in Sale?

You still don’t get it. The only thing there is to see is that he’s healthy. Another N for you.🙈🤭

They had motivation to lie in one case. Can you guess which one? :P

So you’re saying they played the long con with they lie, rushing Grissom through their minor leagues to debut in 2022? Or are you saying it started in the 11th round of the 2019 draft, when Anthopolous said “this guy should be picked this early, but if we overhype him, five years from now we can trade him for an ace caliber pitcher?”

It's almost like the same guys who scouted Grissom for us are the guys who scouted Yoshida. Seeing stuff that just isn't there. Mirages.

He’s absolutely dealt with this year. The only ones who doubt that are the ones who don’t understand.

Will you continue misquoting and failing to understand like you did with that whole “Notin said guarding the lines is the shift” thing?

It gets really sad when I use your trash talk as actual trash talk against you…

When Sale got traded to the Braves I posted that I thought Sale would stay healthy this year, and have a big year for the Braves, and you told me I couldn’t do that, because I didn’t say that when he was with the Red Sox. C’mon man! Are you for real with stuff like that? You get more N’s in front of your name than Sale gets K’s.

Grissom's defensive numbers per FanGraphs are all in the red zone too, folks.

After 167 innings?

You’re desperately trying to sell hindsight here…

Merely citing objective statistics.

Grissom got called up, because of injuries to Arcia, and Albies.

I never said you couldn’t do that. I probably doubted the prediction, but telling people what they can and can’t post is your thing, not mine…

The lack of home runs and extra base hits is just ridiculous. How can you be a good MLB hitter if you can't hit home runs or doubles?

Yoshi hit .287 last year.

Looked through the Sale trade thread and never saw anything about you predicting Sale being healthy. However, you did say you were not sad to see him go and griped a lot about paying $17mill.

Save a few n's for yourself...

Lots of prospects make their debuts when an injury opens the door. The important part at that time was Grissom was the prospect they promoted over any of the other middle infielders in their system...

OK, let's go Old School on Yoshida:

15 HR

72 RBI

Not great production for a DH who cost the team $105 million for 5 years.

Honest question. Because I think theres nothing wrong with your prediction.

But what made you think he would stay healthy this year for the Braves, when he was unable to stay healthy here for 1/2 a decade?

I don't think anyone will dispute that Sale is still a fairly high injury risk. However,

a) He was healthy at the end of 2023.

B) He had TJ surgery which obviously accounts for a lot of the missed time.

c) Two of his other injuries were fluky stuff-getting hit by a ball and falling off a bike.

These are things that the Braves were obviously looking at.

A 193 BABIP is a bit unlucky.

It is.

But last year he had a BABIP of 344 and it still only resulted in a 659 OPS.

Lots of prospects not getting called up when guys get injured too. How come Kavadas and Jordan aren't here? heck people wanted Mayer here last year before even wanting him here this year when Story went down.

OBVIOUSLY injury starts the clock sooner for guys, and opens the door to opportunitey but largely guys get called up around the time they're ready.

There's a reason why teams hoard depth at the back end of the 40 man, all teams do it. Looks bad when the Red Sox suck because they do a s*** job building up the top of the roster.

Before he was traded, this is how I was looking at it, I was hopeful he could stay healthy, optmistic but I certianly wasn't better on it. I hope he stays healthy all year, I hope Grissom puts it together and this trade ends up working out for both teams.

Unless we meet the Braves in the world series in which case I hope Sale sucks.

All I'm referring to is the fact that his stat line this year is a little unlucky, that's all. I'm not projecting anything else or talking about his defense or whatever. He hasn't been great, but the results should be marginally better. Would that result in a power surge? No idea. Xander had very low slugging numbers until his mid 20's. Maybe it'll take Vaughn a few more years? If it takes too long, he's going to be lapped by prospects currently playing in POR.

I could see a case for Kavadas. Jordan is still multiple years away. Mayer and Teel are pretty marching along just fine and should be here either in September or early next year. Anthony maybe later on in 25?

At least people aren't clamoring for Lugo to be called up. Didn't he used to be a 2b/SS???

I was just guessing on a change of scenery, and going to a better team. Now Story Land has taken over Sale’s chair in the injured room.

Comparing Story to Sale is unfair to Sale. I think Sale actually wanted to play.

Exactly my point, people aren't being called up to the majors if teams don't think they're ready or very close to it.

Doesn't mean guys aren't rushed either. It also doesn't mean that just because a guy has very little to learn in the minors that he's going to have instantaneous success in the majors.

I'm very glad the Sox didn't give up on Duran, I was hopeful but I certainly stopped betting on him at the beginning of last year.

...and Story doesn't?

Sure he does. He was putting in extra effort in the offseason in more ways than one. Just s***** luck.
