During laughers like this one, there's less tension and no need to help Cora with game decisions. Also no need to curse Bloom for his roster choices. Or castigate Kike for SS defense and pop-ups/K's at key junctures.

The A’s are an embarrassment to MLB. That’s bad enough.

Games are quicker, too. Less chance to prepare a dissertation or sign a petition.

Top 5 in lineup are OPS's from .814-.889. Duran's .320/.889 leads the way, which is an amazing statement. I'm sure he will be sought out in a trade deal but, i would keep him.

There will be some untouchable players on the SOX. Duran will be one of them.

Duran's race to first was overturned by a hair but it just shows again that in all sports speed is an attribute and can't be significantly coached up. You have it or you don't. Duran does have it.

The Dude should always be in CF

See Moon, even in a laugher there will be opportunities to point out some areas of needed improvement

I pretty much follow the SOX exclusively, but I would still be surprised if any MLB player has improved more since last year than Duran. In all aspects of the game, except speed. He was born with that. Edited by SPLENDIDSPLINTER

Good to see TOR no hit by the Tigers. Yanks & O's won.

HOU plays SEA and the Rays play ATL, so maybe we can gain on more than just the Jays.

Had we lost, this same line-up would have been ripped to shreds by "sox" fans.

He is Acuña of the AL.

Walter will get to work on covering first back at WooSox soon

As I recall, ERod hated to cover first and did so reluctantly, sometimes not in time. Sale is the direct opposite. When he releases the ball, he immediately goes into 5th infielder mode--and he is never late getting to 1b.

Two candidates who leap to mind are Orlando Arcia and Jonah Heim…

I always respect your opinions; your knowledge of other teams far exceeds mine.

When is Cora going to learn nothing good ever comes with Kike at SS. He belongs at 2nd and CF and that’s it

This team needs a fundamentals manual badly, and not kidding.

This is no doubt coming as a shock to you, but nothing is more fundamental than hitting and pitching, which the Sox have done pretty nicely today and yesterday. Every now and then you can win or lose a game on defense, but at least 90% of the time it's usually one or both of pitching and hitting. There have been exactly zero MLB teams who won consistently primarily because of their defense.

I am absolutely not in favor of lousy defense. I hate it when pitchers don't cover 1b.

I love great defense and get pissed when the Sox trade away good fielding SS's as they have done so many times in the past because they definitely prefer good hitting SS's who aren't a disaster in the field.

Is Arroyo all so bad at SS?

I've wondered why not try him at SS and Kike at 2B.

I know, I know. If he had just started Chang at SS today, the Sox might have won.

I thought we were all waiting for a proven SS Chang to return and now that he has we're talking about Arroyo at SS? Quit making me scratch my head, because I barely have any hair left as it is. Chang should be the starting SS, imho, until Story returns.
