I don’t want to use the term “must win” in a random July game against Oakland, but this game is one the Sox need to get. Paxton on the mound vs worst team in league and another bullpen game looming? Need this one

On another limb and guessing that Paxton may have some minor difficulty today and still get the W for himself and team, which can certainly use the win.

 

He's been out of his routine with the baby arriving, and may have concerns, given the baby, over the trade rumors which include his name. Relocating by month end , away from baby and wife, could make him only want to win 8-7.

 

Big Maple has mental fortitude but never forget he is a proven MF.

I remember George Carlin doing a rant on golf, explaining how much land golf courses take up and how that wasted land could be better served as cemeteries. I have attempted to play golf, which was years ago, and found for me the best thing about it was I could smoke while playing.

Top 5 in lineup are OPS's from .814-.889. Duran's .320/.889 leads the way, which is an amazing statement. I'm sure he will be sought out in a trade deal but, i would keep him.

During laughers like this one, there's less tension and no need to help Cora with game decisions. Also no need to curse Bloom for his roster choices. Or castigate Kike for SS defense and pop-ups/K's at key junctures.
