Martin has been an awesome set-up reliever this season. Thank you Dodgers for making both Martin and Turner available.

I'm pretty sure Texas fans also thank the Dodgers for making Seager available.

Make that 7 innings. I'm not going to look this up, but I'm guessing there hasn't been too many starters this season that have gone 7 against the Rangers and only given up 2 runs. Great job by Bello!

Pretty much after his first start, Bello has been awesome this year. Promising future if the Sox don't screw him up.

Turner playing the field as well as DH and being a decent fielder brings good value to this cost efficient .500+1 team

Come to think of it, I doubt there's many starters that even go 7 innings period. After his 25 pitch 1st inning Bello going 7 was really impressive.

i couldn't resist looking it up. Bello is the 6th. the last was Luis Castillo of the Mariners who gave up just one run in 7 innings on June 2nd. and yeah....great job by Bello!!

Thanks for the research. Bello's the future.

I haven't read any posts on this thread, since the game started, but this was a big win.

I'm not going to predict this will be a springboard to anything great. This season has been to unpredictable to venture any projections based on anything tangible, but to me, this was a must win, and we won.

Now, we need to go 3-1 in our final 4 games before the break to be better positioned for the stretch before the deadline.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I still think this is a better team than 2022. I'm not so sure about 2021.

YES!

Big shout out to DD.

He didn't leave much at the upper levels, but keeping Devers and grabbing guys like Casas, Bello, Duran and others have finally given us some youth infusions.

And Texas thanks the Sox for trying to go cheap on Nate.

Sox offered Nate a Qualifying Offer, which was worth ~$19.5M. Nate turned it down. Sox also offered Nate a multi year deal for more than the AAV than he ultimately got from the Rangers; Nate turned that down as well.

I wish he were still here too, but Nate turned them down twice, so they moved on.

Terrific game and win, this time mostly with pitching. First two runs for the Sox came from seeing eye singles, which was fine with me. Bello pitching the 7th was a little chancy, but it paid off.

On page 1 I commented the bottom of the order stinks--at least lately--but tonight Arroyo, Hamilton, and Wong combined for 4 hits, including Hamilton's double.

Big win, exactly what was needed.

Exactly. This whole "Bloom let ____ walk" is getting tiring.

Red Sox are now 5-0 this year in games I've gone to. Who thinks I should go more often?

I'm already going again on Friday. Sitting in the Monster for the first time ever.

This is the first game I've gone to this year at Fenway that didn't end in a walk off HR. What a disgrace!! I want my money back

Go to more away games, too.

If I hadn't been let go last month, I probably would have gone to Wrigley again this year, or San Francisco. I loved my San Diego trip so much

Texas made a great signing with Nate and an apparently horrific signing with deGrom.

Pitchers seem to be the ultimate crapshoot.

According to reports Nate was looking to stay. Was just looking for a better deal. And when he didn't find one he came back to the Sox but Bloom said no as they just went out and got, Yoshi, Jansen and Martin. The Sox retracted their last offer. There's an article about it

Most Qualifying Offers get turned down, so that doesn't really count.

Do we know exactly how much higher the Red Sox offer was than the Rangers' offer? Is it that well documented?

The Nate signing is still pending on the final grade.

Of course. He could throw the last pitch of his career any time. But that seems to apply to most pitchers now.
