Sox are 1 game up on the Yankees! Guess who won't be trolling in here?

Meh. Jacksonianmarch usually has pretty good insights. Plus we should be kind to him--given that the Yankees have unquestionably fallen on hard times going back at least 20 years. They won three straight, 1998-2000, but have won just once, 2009, in the John Henry era.

Hard times? They've had 9 division titles and finished 2nd 8 times. Seems like a pretty good 20 years?

He is a troll, here to pile misery on Sox fans. His enjoyment is trolling Sox fans by being in here.

1 visit to the World Series in 19 years is not good by Yankee standards.

Nah, he's here because he was kicked off a Yankees messageboard because he was too negative.

Fortunately, these game threads are 99.9% negative free.

You must have put a certain special someone on ignore.

1. L Verdugo

2. R Turner

3. R Refsnyder

4. L Devers

5. R Kike

6. L Yoshida

7. R Arroyo

8. R Wong

9. L Tapia

Tapia in for Duran a small surprise, but otherwise a pretty inevitable lineup--including Kike at SS and Arroyo at 2b.

I'm surprised the Sox have scored 2 runs already because I'm impressed with Kikuchi's repertoire, which works well against Devers, but not so much Dugo, Arroyo, Wong, and Yoshida.

Houck is going great guns. Until Varsho gets the double. Got the groundout for his 12th out and a scoreless 4 innings.

Ump definitely helped Yoshida on that dinger--by calling two strikes balls.

Yoshida may be slow on the bases and not much in the outfield, but that's a pretty good swing.

What is it with Wong? He's not too bad at getting on base, but seems unable to score any runs. He needs to focus on scoring. Hitting is the easy part. Edited by Maxbialystock

Couldn't help laughing at Youk and Wake dissecting the shape of a cutter which could be a slider as opposed to the definitive slider which sometimes breaks late and down as opposed to early and up or out unless to a lefty then it's in but hopefully not down or they might take it out.

Do you think that Tanner is concious of his performance during the third time through the order, and tries to compensate by going away from his strength? That is a 6 run shitshow in the 5th

That's what happens when you are afraid to throw strikes to the bottom of the order.

He seems fine and your analysis sucks.

Time to answer with a 3 run bomb of our own. Refsnyder ?? That knock helps Edited by vegasbob

Devers has been Kikuchi's best friend in this game--every time he needs an out, Devers delivers. When was the last time a manager, seeing his starter was on his last legs, has left him in because Devers was coming to bat? As soon as Devers provided the out, in comes a reliever.

Btw, you were pretty much the leader of Dugo bashing since he arrived. You should quit while you're behind.
