Unless there was something wrong with Kluber physically today then Cora used up the BP when it wasn’t needed, and could have used the rest. Kluber could of had another inning in him if not two.

Ground ball DP . If observers do not see the uppercut swing to top the ball on his last several AB's , except when he K's . He may do well later after he sees a lot more pitching, but his current flaw is in his swing

You think it's permanent?

An interesting fact that Yoshida had 9 hits in the WBC. 8 of the hits came on pitchers under 90 MPH, and his other hit came on a pitch at 91. Cora wanted to make Yoshida feel more comfortable, so he batted him further down the order instead of leadoff. I’m glad that’s worked out good so far.

Agreed. He really settled down.

He only was at 67 pitches.

Batting cleanup if anything is more pressure. It's mind blown to me that he's batting an unknown cleanup. Just put him down further in the order and if he pans out then you can move him up

I think he needs to be refocused on the slash type line drive swing he showed in the WBC . He makes contact but it has been topped grounders after the first couple games, and no slices off towards the wall.

He's trying to hit GS's with one on.

Not that it is the prime concern after 6 games, but in the first week , Sox are 4 games out behind Bloom's real team. Cora said a fast start (4-2 would have been ok) was necessary. Unfortunately, Bloom let the Rays bug our clubhouse and acted on it.

Pittsburgh fans looked at the schedule and said, "Wow, we have an easy schedule starting out, get to play the Red Sox in the second series of the year. That will be three wins."

They could be 1-5 if the orioles didn't gift them one game too. So it's not looking good early on

This is a bad team put together by an "in over his head, GM" and owned by a guy who got complacent after winning 4 WS. They are bad entertainment and the fans will stop going to games or watching on T.V. soon.

We gave some gifts, too.

Glad I missed today completely after listening to last night’s game while driving 200 miles. Woof. I was nervous about the pitching (founded so far) and D (which also looks sketchy)…not about the bats. Oh well it’s early. Maybe Balt and Pitt are going to prove better than they look on paper? But need to get going here. Tough start. A blown pop fly away from 1-5. Edited by guinness22

This is Cora's 5th season managing and you're still surprised?

And you left out the fielding.

The Orioles didn't run wild in their next series the way they did against the Sox. :(

The beginning has thus far been ominous. Both the pitching and the offense look weak.

We're 6th in runs scored, 10th in OPS and 12th in wRC+.

Or, are you talking about just the recent 2 games?
