As I was telling the Yankee troll three or four months ago when he was bragging them up, they would never get by the Astros. At least the Red Sox took the Astros to six games. Once again, the Yankees didn’t win anything. I hate the Astros also. I’m happy for Vasquez, but go Phillies.

To place matters into perspective: The Red Sox finished 21 games behind the Yankees this year after posting a 6-13 record against the Bronx Bombers.

And the Mariners had a losing record vs the Sox, so what perspective does that show?

That the smaller the sample the more random the results?

As I get older, that means absolutely nothing.

I want World Series Championship teams.

I wait anxiously as Bloom assembles next winning it all team.

Starts with Casas and Bello. Hopefully Devers is in that equation.

I'd say that even the rivalry with the Yankees doesn't really get me excited anymore. It's just more annoying to deal with Yankees fans than anything else.

I will say that there have been recent smoke signals about bad feelings coming from writers that follow the Red Sox regarding the chance that Devers re-signs. :(

The Mariners were a losing team 6-8 games under 500 when the Red Sox played them, and they got better later on in the season, where the Sox went the other way, so doesn’t show much more than that.

The Ms were 17-21 before being swept by us in May, after going 3-3 vs NYM & TOR.

Later, they were 26-31 (including 4 losses vs us) when we took 2 of 3 vs them in June. They had just won 4 straight series vs HOU, at BAL, at TX and at HOU. They were not a bad team, then.

Yankee fans may be disappointed today, but they should all feel fulfilled after a winning season that culminated in a division crown and ALDS championship.

With a 58-21 start, the Yanks truly were the greatest team in the history of the first half of this season. Only a 44-48 second half, including the postseason, marred New York's remarkable campaign... but that was only over the final four months.

We'll never forget Aaron Judge (no matter where he ends up) setting the AL home run record -- the seventh most all-time. He also slugged two more HRs in the playoffs, when he was only second in strikeouts (to teammate Josh Donaldson). Kudos, NY.

The knives are out in NY for Cashman, whose contract is up for renewal. Will be fun to watch.

Yankees should dump Cashman, but keep Boone.

The season did end in disappointing fashion, but it always does for 29 teams. It should have been a very fun 6 month stretch for their fans…

They were a losing team that got much better as the season went on, so call it what you want, but I doubt the Sox would have had the same success against them if they had played in Aug- Sept.

It is true, Judge holds the AL record for most HR's hit.

Most Yankee fans are fixated on three things:

-No rings since 2009

-One pennant since 2003

-Cashman the GM the whole time

I know some that will say at least we finished way ahead of Boston. The ones born this century will mean it, and the ones born last century know that really doesn't mean anything.

since 2000 Cashman has spent 4.66 billion in payroll for 1 championship, he keeps paying for certain type players that he thinks are tailor made for cigar box Yankee Stadium, doesn't work, 324 million for Cole is the laughing stock of a lot of moderators, he's lucky he's working for a cub scout who is not that sharp who was not his father's choice to take over the reins but he is the subject of a series of events, Houston is going to their 4th series in 6 years, you're going on 1 for 23 Mr. Cashman, you love hype and big flash, doesn't work

The story about Mookie moving to 2b for him... :(

Waste of Mookie’s arm and an unnecessary risk for him getting Machado’d.

Bellinger is leaving. Put Mookie in CF…

If Frank McCourt still owned the team, they'd just sign Beni and JBJ.

To be fair, mookie could probably play catcher and he'd still be the best player in the park. Judge is a more than capable right fielder.

Lots of chatter about the giants being willing to break the bank for him.

I have to think the Mets will make a strong push, too.

The Yanks will have to pay a lot to keep him.

Judge figures to keep a few teams guessing until mid-December at the earliest…

I'm coming from a football (soccer) stance her, so excuse the naivety.

Is there a deadline in the mlb trade season, and do most of the deals get done in the final days?

Because in soccer here in Europe, there's a transfer window, but so many deals only get completed in the final hours of the window, which would have been open for months.
