Well, at least, he doesn't fire a gun off in his garage like a certain Yankem jerk.

7 of the innings pitched tonight were by Yankees pitchers who beat women.

That was an amazing game! Red Sox showed heart and fire and the bullpen was great.

Would be nice to win a series against these guys. Go sawx! Lol

Eovaldi kept them close and the BP held the Yankees, JDM comes through and Pham wins it. Just like old times.

great win, great game, now let's carry it over to tomorrow

Just 4 down from the last WC game with 48 to play!

These guys Bloom picked up are playing like Schwarber, Iggy and Shaw!

WTF was that ????? Who missed the call or is McGuire an idiot setting up the DP

Yeah, I'm not sure why some give him (or the RS) credit for a 'productive' AB even though that was labelled a hit. It was 100% negative, since his potential run was meaningless.

By no means are we out of it. At some point we will go on one final hot streak. Hopefully it started last night and continues into Pittsburgh next week

Calling it 4 games back from the last WC is misleading. 5 games back in the L column, and you can’t make up a loss, so to me it’s 5 games back from the last. WC. 2 of Bloom’s pickups have been good, but Pham should have been here before the season started, and a 1B 2 months ago, so we wouldn’t have to of gone through the Franchy clown show. As usual Bloom being late to the party.

No one can deny what didn't happen the first half of this season, even the Sox intern using an alias to protest Gee, we thought Travis Shaw was our guy...

But I'm sticking to my claim that Bloom's moves at the deadline made the line-up and roster better overall. Whether some of the players are still bitter over losing their buddy Vaz shouldn't really affect any at bats when they're all isolated hitters vying for individual glory -- which ultimately adds up to scoring more or less runs than opponents. But overall, the Sox seem to have more opportunities to score now, and better ways to prevent foes from scoring.

Of course, not improving the bullpen, and leaving it to old unreliables, also shows fans -- and players -- how much a front office is invested in the now.

Barnes and Brasier come through again! :D

I still hope they can unload Barnes. Although to his credit (and my questioning), he did face the toughest part of the Yankee order…

Not getting a relief pitcher felt wrong. But I don’t know what deals were discussed, either. Speier said they were in on numerous arms, but without knowing who they wanted and what the asking price was, I can’t say they completely failed…

I suppose they can make a move on Ken Giles now…

The 'productive out' was provided by Davis when he moved Arroyo to 3rd on a ground out. No one gave Reese a 'productive hit', which I don't think there is such a term. OTOH, if someone did say it, it makes no sense.

Lol you got me

I forgot the date, I said that your team would begin a pitching slump. My guess is, I got lucky and your team has a significantly worse ERA and FIP after that date that took on a life of its own on this discussion board.

I think they figured returning pitchers from the IL were like team additions.

Of course, the Sale injury occurred beofre the deadline.

BTW, I thought, when we signed Paxton, he was due back in July or August.

It was actually the most unproductive hits I've ever seen.

Only the Sox can fail to score from 3B on a single. (That has to be rarer than a no-hitter.)

Did Cora or anyone field the question "WTF was the call there?" Was it supposed to be a safety squeeze? Did Arroyo miss the call on a suicide squeeze? I really can't see how a bunt right at the charging 3B (who beat CA to the ball!) was supposed to work. If he'd been swinging away even weak contact could have won the game.
