Eovaldi, Martinez, Vazquez and Deikman to the mets for Vientros!

Brazier to the padres for a bag of used baseballs.

Straihm, kike and Bradley to Atlanta for a high a prospect.

No one wants damaged goods with Kike and a .200 hitter with Bradley. Maybe we could get a Charlie Pass for them.

You are correct.

We may have to eat the freight on those three for the rest of the season to entice them.

A prospect that is high on drugs is the only kind we’d get for that package. JBJ has an $8M buyout.

I can’t see a contender taking them completely for free if the Sox put them out with the garbage.

Isn’t Josh Bell the final product at best case for Casas ? Wouldn’t it Behoove the mighty Heiiiiim to bite the bullet and actually do the Nation a solid and get Bell FFS ? Casas May never hit at the big league level and Bell has pop and average on his side ! I’m trading for Bell tonight and not giving a rip about the minors until that kid is hitting 35 bombs down there and an average over 300 .Bell and Murphy and Montas ohhh my .

It doesn't make sense to trade for Josh Bell. But it does make sense for the Red Sox to sign Josh Bell in free agency after the season.

Casas could be the starting 1b next year and Bell could be the starting DH. However, I don't know if Casas will be ready at the start of next season--he might need more time in the minors.

To get a good hitter for free??? (or a non-premium prospect)

And why would the sox eat the whole salary and get nothing in return?!!

Again, just another of swi's dumb ideas that has zero chance of happening.

You're an idiot. There is absolutely ZERO chance of that happening.

Do you even think before you post?

Assuming X and Rafey are off the table... the only way the next two days get really interesting is if Bloom acquires MLB-ready talent, and the only way that happens is if he packages pending free agents with controllable players and/or Red Sox prospects (start with Houck, Duran and Crawford). Otherwise, the names we get for JD, Eovaldi and Vaz will be lower level, and maybe not even make the big leagues for a year or two.

And yet the price of parking around Fenway will still go up; even if attendance goes down, they'll find a way to create bigger demand for parking by reducing supply, repainting bigger spaces for gas guzzlers. Hey, someone's gotta pay for the paint, brushes and labor!

You never know. The prices at the deadline can get pretty dumb.

While true, especially for relievers (Diekman!!), I don’t expect farm-altering pieces for any of them.

Although if one of them gets a non-descript heretofore unknown who turns into the next Josh Winckowski, it will be a job well done…

Oh no, not farm altering, but even Vogelbach brought back something better than what was suggested above.

And why shouldn’t he?

My daughter has recently gotten into MLB as a diehard Cubs’ fan, and her perusals around the league have lead to a fascination with the unathletic and remarkably ugly Vogelbach, a man she cannot believe plays sports for a living.

So, yes, Vogelbach is worth any price IMO…

Ha, that's awesome!

Any time the Yanks aren't in it a small part of me pulls for the cubs. Chicago is an awesome city provided you avoid the gun riddled areas.....

For years a Seattle broadcaster and two lesser Mariners would tour the Pacific Northwest in January on the Mariner Caravan. At one stop I got to see up close Daniel Vogelbach, whom I found funny and self-deprecating.

Vogelbach will always be remembered as the Chris Farley lookalike when Mariner rookies were hazed in 2016:

Chicago is perfectly safe in over 90% of the neighborhoods. It’s a very large city in area and only has a few spots where you really need to worry.

And even in those neighborhoods, you’re safe we’ll over 90% of the time…

He’s also a Chris Farley run-alike, which makes for great television when he gets on base.

Like I said, we’re Vogelbach fans in my house…

I know the city pretty well having visited numerous times.

And the same could be said for many places, that they are safe 90% of the time. Doesn't mean I am going to run out to spend the day in Liberty City or East New York in Brooklyn anytime soon.

When the trade deadline comes, I think J.D., Eovaldi, and Vasquez will be gone. Connor Wong will be called up to the be the backup catcher, the lineup will get weaker and the rotation will be filled out with 3 TBA’s each week. Contenders are not going to want any of our other garbage and Bloom will not move XB or Devers.

It will be a sad, sad day in my little corner of the world. I may even shed a tear.

My understanding is that Bloom is asking for major league level talent in return. Not sure exactly what that means.
