Seriuosly with respect to matt Barnes. He is taking up a slot in a bullpen which will get taxed over the next week . What do you do with him while trying to figure something out?

Barnes cannot be sent down, correct? Is there anything in the CBA that permits a medical "leave"? It would have to be the IL, right? Has that ever been used for 'psychological' reasons? (The Ben Simmons situation in the NBA?)

(I didn't really think he was turning things at all. He had a nice box score on his last outing but those outs were very loud. It really does seem like a Daniel Bard situation, who is back in the league, no?)

If soxprospects.com has any credibility, Barnes has two options left. Is THIS true?

He can be sent to the minors with his consent. He’s have to be subjected to waivers, but nobody is claiming him. You can make up an IL stay for anything. The players won’t agree to that, though, because you never have to reactivate the player.

As lost as Matt Barnes has looked, at least John Schreiber has been an unsung hero for this team

The one plus to the whole Barnes situation is for once, Cora didn’t use him in a close game…

Even if he has two options left?

I think jad wants to know if Barnes can go to the minors, not what happens if/when the Sox DFA him…

So, in the 6 game season series with the White Sox, the Red Sox went 2-4, but outscored Chicago 38-23

That's baseball! Crazy freakin' game, but you gotta love it.

I've always thought there should be a dress code for team uniforms, at least in how you wear your socks. The Red Sox, for example, should always wear their pants so their red socks are showing... and never wear navy socks, either (I wasn't into Manny wearing his pants covering his shoe tops, while Pokey or someone else folds them up to the knees).

The White Sox are even worse: not only don't they wear white, but their official choice of black pays homage to the squad that committed the biggest scandal in baseball history... If I cared about Chicago, I'd be ashamed.

30 of those runs came in the 2 games the SOX won. The SOX scored 8 runs in the other 4 games, so it's reasonable that they lost those 4 games.

Wonder what they are waiting to DFA this piece of s***.
Bloom doesn’t want to look stupid for giving him a 2 year extension. He will look dumber if they keep trotting him out there.

Trotting him out there is on Cora.

Cora can't DFA him. Cora will use the guys that he has. Obviously they've been hoping for a turnaround that hasn't happened.

Agreed, and Cora is using him in mop up roles, recently- hoping a turnaround happens, but I'm not sure how much longer this can go on.

Maybe, they have or need to talk to him about accepting some sort of rehab assignment in Woo.

He has limited options.

It wasn't meant as a criticism. Cora has used him in mop up situations, as he should be doing.
