See you can’t resist., and you are not throwing stones?

Telling truths is not throwing stones.

At least I admit my mistakes and apologize. I've confronted you with your actual quotes, and you have never once admitted you even made a typo mistake.

Okay, I admit I throw stones at pretender fans, but I'm not sorry.

I mispoke when I said I do not thow stones. I was wrong. There. See how easy it is to admit a mistake?

You two have had a thing going for quite a while now.

Yes we have, and I’ve told how it started. I know I’m not the only one except for the length of time, and you remember it wasn’t that long ago that he got into it with MVP, and you were all upset about it.He has had me on ignore several times, but then he still comments on my post. He can’t resist, and has bragged he has to get the last word in.Besides I only Cheer, Cheer for Old Notre Dame.

We agree you are a pretender fan who bailed so fast last year.

Good one.

no offense to you, Moon or anyone else for that matter.

i followed this forum for at least a couple of years before they let me in. as someone who has been a diehard Red Sox fan since 1975, i enjoy the back and forth, the differing opinions and the ability to vent my frustrations. i don't like seeing Red Sox fans attacking each other. i won't do it myself but if someone wants to have at it, i won't hold back.

I still watched and cheered for every game, and I admitted I bailed.

Was saying Casas was "My boy," pretending or just sarcasm?

You are not a pretender.

No issues, here.

I ran out of green ink a long time ago.

Next, you'll say Duran has always been your favorite player.

Not always favorite, but need him to do well. He’s on my fantasy team along with Casas.

Any player who could handle MLB for minimum wage made it that much easier to retain the elite talent. This is not a difficult concept. Keeping Manny Margot might mean no money spent keeping a more expensive OF. Keeping Moncada might mean no need for Mitch Moreland.

The number of minimum wage rookies who played at all during that period is surprisingly low. In his 4 years, only like 9 position players saw as many as 10 plate appearances. And that number includes the aging non-prospect Bryce Brentz types…

Ridiculous!

DD signing Sale and Eovaldi is the reason Mookie isn't here anymore. That's the grudge I hold against him.

This i get and i do understand this. Personally i think that Sale absolutely deserved the deals he got. He earned them. If people want to think that that signing has literally crippled us for what the last 4 or 5 years, so be it. I'm sorry but look at the junk really that he has signed and brought in to us. I do understand how you feel though.

Are you saying we had more min wage rookies playing during that period?

BTW, I agree on your opinion on the Sale deal. He deserved it and easily could have made that deal look like a great one for the team.

This thread should be trashed. There is absolutely NO way Bloom is getting fired. He has followed JH's orders PERFECTLY. Cut the payroll down and keep the team "competitive". He has hit on both.

He's kept the fans highly competitive, in terms of at each other's' throats.

yah because those fans should be happy with how the team has done in Bloom's 4 years in Boston

Were you happy with the mess he was handed?

Massive budget slash directive

Declining vet production, even those in their primes

Pretty much no farm help, except Houck from Devers (summer of '17 to spring of '23) to Bello, Casas, Duran & Co.

We all seem to be unhappy about the MLB results, but some chose to blame, some seek to explain while some look for silver linings.

If the players showed the fight some fans have, maybe the results would be better.

Then why are so many complaining?

I don't think so. Did I say that? What I am saying is that notin constantly bringing up The DD era and trying to defend Bloom by using it is ridiculous. I'm still trying to support Bloom and I'm still waiting to see the next real superstar appear in a Red sox uniform.

That's like asking why someone would keep complaining about Dombrowski even though he did exactly what JH hired him to do.

Not extend Betts?

Not extend Betts?

I'll just keep saying the same thing about Betts. JH balked at what Mookie wanted. It's as simple as that. We can make it as complicated as we want, but sometimes the simple answer is the right one.

Right or wrong, if another pandemic started picking off baseball execs, these obits would be likely today -- JH: "Won 4 WS as Red Sox owner".... CB: "Traded Mookie Betts"

And Bloom had to know and agree to that idea when taking the job... thus, the pressure on himself to finally win a title

Who makes the final call on paying the studs or watching them walk? Just look at the Yanks. Twice now Cashman has been elbowed out of the way, once by Hank on A-Rod, once by Hal on Judge.

How is it "ridiculous" to add that context to the task Bloom was given?

You may disagree with the impact the budget, farm and declining/injured returning vets had on Bloom's tenure, but certainly all three areas were significant enough to not call bringing them up "ridiculous."

Again, I come back to the idea that it seems like how people judge the Bloom era has much to do with how they viewed the situation he was handed. Many refused to believe a reckoning was coming, back in 2019, and they seem to be mostly be the ones who think that Bloom is largely to blame for 3-4 years of poor to mediocre play, since DD left.

This all began in 2019, including the budget restrictions and no trading prospects trend. The no farm infusion trend began right after Devers was called up in the summer of 2017, and that trend takes years to kick in and see the results it has on a team's ability to win consistently.

Again, unlike notin, I applaud DD's efforts and think this sacrifice was worth every bit of those 3 glorious years from 2016-2018.
