The comments and reactions on here are comparatively mild and polite when you look at X ( fka Twitter ) . Sox fans on a rampage and looking for blood.

I could see this coming back last offseason. When the starting rotation was set up in this manner, the injuries piled up and the bullpen just got overtaxed. I think they are most likely sticking with Bloom another year. However, Carrabis did say that he heard ownership was frustrated that moves weren't made at the deadline. We'll see.

Me being pissed off about a .500 season isn't going to fix the Red Sox. I'm also not sure it's a season worth getting pissed off over. They keep building that bridge longer. If they don't make some major moves this offseason and plan on really gunning for the playoffs, I may not up my home MLB package. I'll just stick paying for my grandfather's and go over there when I want to watch a game.

The stands are still being full, but what was brought up too is that it seems more of the opposition fans like Toronto, and the Mets are filling up the stands, and over shadowing the Red Sox fans, where it used to be the other way around when the Red Sox went on the road. That to me says more tickets are available. Of course it’s all money to JH pockets no matter where it comes from.

A few years ago, it was hard for visiting fans to get tickets. Seems to be easier now!

It's the computer age now. It was more fun in the old days when there would always be kids outside Fenway hawking tickets for the scalpers.

1. The Berrios-Duran trade rumors existed nowhere on this board. I know this because I made them up.

2. Berrios’ contract at the time expired 2 years ago while Duran has 4 years left

3. Duran is better than Berrios. And markedly cheaper

4. If I sucked at any activity as badly as you suck at trolling, I would quit it immediately and destroy all evidence of my participation…

So what’s your point?

Berrios was in the trade market that year, Boston had a legit prospect in Duran Duran reports by the Herald, Globe and whatever swinging d!ck who was on espn were that of Twins being interested in the prospect!

Do your f##cking homework before you cry to me on this board about not stating facts!

The homework includes facts you omit, like the fact that Berrios had 1.3 years of control and did not deliver on the expectations TOR and you had, at the time.

4.75 ERA w TOR 2021-2022

1.32 WHIP

You really wish we made that deal?

(Note: the signing of Berrios and his 2023 numbers are not part of the suggested trade.)

Go back and look at the body of work before being dealt to Toronto

More K’s than IP

Less hits than IP

Durable

Sub 4 era

With Toronto 21 season was not good statistically but the player rebounded in 22

Solid #3 Pitcher

Duran isn’t and never will be a consistent player, he can’t field, doesn’t hit for power , those types of prospects are a dime a dozen

You make that deal any day of the week! Especially an Organization that has a track record of not developing pitching

I'd have done that deal. That's not what this is about.

You come back after every losing stretch and gloat about a deal that would have been bad for us, and then call us names for not patting you on the back.

Next, you'll say the Bagwell trade was great.

Iglesias hasn't sniffed the majors and Andrus has been really bad.

Ah but Andrelton Simmons is still available even now…

Lol. It’s kind of cute when you get mad. Like watching a rat carry a slice of key lime pie up a flight of stairs.

I assume you have links to those stories which are undoubtedly still online.

If so, please skip to the part where the twins wanted TWO top 100 prospects for Berrios, a price they received from Toronto in Austin Martin (2021 BA #16) and Simeon Woods-Richardson 2021 BA#69). But according to you, the Twins were going to turn that down for unranked (and never ranked at the time Jarren Duran.

And for fun, here’s a link that never mentions Duran.

So tell me about your facts. Actually never mind. Don’t need your input. I did write them after all..

-0.3 fWAR. Bad bat and good glove. He'd fit right in here. He'd be an even more extreme version of Yu Chang.

The problem is that these arguments never really matter as they are ignored by the other party.

Story didn't have a spring training, this is effectively his spring training.

I have zero issue with him finishing a rehab assignment and getting reps in.

If we wanted a short stop who can play D but not hit we've had that all year, and at various times had a SS who couldn't field OR hit. Taking one's time is never a horrible decision.

Ironically Kike Hernandez has been hitting very very well since leaving the Sox.

And Ryan Braiser has been pitching like a shut down closer.

The list of ex Sox players doing well, elsewhere, especially the ones who sucked, here is long.

Ironically, the ones who did well, here, seem to be mostly doing worse, with a few very large exceptions- like Betts and JD.

It's not irony. It's what we expect to happen when a player leaves.

Now, good players leaving to suck and bad players leaving to be good is much closer to irony. However, since there are exceptions, it's not really irony either.

Yes, it's not really irony, but it is puzzling.

Confirmation bias.

When players leave here they get better!

What about when they don't like with Tapia or all the other castoffs that people don't bring up every two seconds. Even Matt Barnes wasn't that good this year. It's not like he turned the clock back to 2018 or something.

I just find it ironic how people look at what a guy has done recently and think that's it for them and that's all they will ever be. Kike was "washed up" and I always made the argument that he'd be fine as a utility player. Plus I'm sure it probably helps playing somewhere were the fanbase hasn't grown to hate you.

I never hated Kike, I was just disappointed in his play this year. I was very adamant that he'd do fine if used right and in the right circumstance. Others have held this opinion as well and Kike is making us look good right now.

Also, a "change of scenery" may be at play here as well.

Players aren't just inputs on a spreadsheet. Change of scenery is real for some players. I think Kiké just needed a reset button. Sox wouldn't sit him out in CF. No other way to reset, but trade.

Bogaerts is struggling. Eovaldi and Wacha are on the IL.

Or… crazy notion here.. Kike has 40 PA and Brasier has 20 IP…
