Great to the see the Sox swing the bats.

Unfortunately JBJ seems to be making a strong effort at attaining the worst batting average in MLB, and retain his crown from last season …….

Three reasons the SOX won tonight:

1)Law of averages

2)Me playing a MASSIVE ATTACK cd before the game started

3)the main reason, the Jays' BP, which should be a concern to the organization. I certainly hope it remains a problem as long as possible.

Being a tad superstitious, I will play MASSIVE ATTACK again before tomorrow's afternoon game.

This did not look like the Sox team we have been watching before tonight. Except for Story's misplays--which were not errors--the defense, hitting, starting pitching, and relief pitching were all of a piece.

How's that pitch clock going to function when there's runners on base?

Maybe a throw to the base resets the clock?

Will we see lobs to 1B with 2 seconds on the clock?

Saw a minor league game a couple weeks ago. Pitch clock was 15 seconds to throw a pitch if the previous pitch was a called outcome and 20 seconds if the ball was fouled off. It reset to 15 seconds after a ball in play and started as soon as the pitcher got the ball and was back on the mound. There weren't a lot of throws to first, but such action did reset the clock to 15 seconds.

The first 5 innings were completed in slightly over 1 hour. The last 4 took about 1 1/2 hours due to pitching changes and increased scoring. Still, a 2 1/2 hour game. Now, the fact that it was in the 40s may have contributed.

Took my son to a Double A "night" game that promised a fireworks show upon completion. After the game, fans had to wait in their seats for 20 minutes before it got dark.

Bogey is raking, and obviously Cora thinks he needs another day off, so Bogey will get a day off today. What a joke to be resting guys this early, and especially with the team struggling. Edited by Old Red

Great win! Offense looked good. Hopefully it gets them going. We know they won't be this bad all season

Cora knows what he is doing.

Because he thinks Bogey has done to much running, and moving around for a 29 year old athlete? The team is 8-11, and need all the help they can get. Especially Bogey’s bat.

Cora knows what he is doing.

He had a team meeting and told them that the offense needed to score runs and the pitching needed to not give up runs. Worked out well.

Welcome back, Alex!

When he called Diekman in, it was kinda scary.

If it works, he's got stones, and it's good for Diekman's confidence etc.

If it doesn't, he's an idiot.

I've always said that Cora should run a day care.

You don't rest a player who's on a hot streak. I'd be pissed as a player. This ain't 2018 when your team is so good you can afford to give players a day off. This is like me at work. Ah, yeah we're going to give you the day off today, work is a little busy but you know screw it. Have a day.

Bottom line the Sox are 8-11, and need Bogey’s hot bat.

Yup it's getting ridiculous. As I said this generation is made of crystal in literally every aspect.

Plus, baseball players are not that demanded physically like other sports. They are probably passive matter maybe 80% of the time during a game.

True, but nobody else plays 162 games in 6 month plus travel time galore and spring training and maybe playoffs.

Yeah but that's why they can play 162 games. They are passive matter most of the time.

Indeed. It's amazing how many times someone gets hurt, though, just running to 1B or getting out of bed.

The first time —and the last— I tried to play baseball I injured my shoulder trying to throw the baseball from the right field with all my strengths and my hips trying to hit.

It looks easy but it is not at all. You need a lot of practice and perform properly with the required and adequate technic —even when you throw.

Said that, MLB players are baseball beasts. They've been playing the game since forever. Even if they are well trained injures might come. Resting people won't avoid latent injuries. This game does not demand exhaustive physical performance all the time like other sports.
