Only $11 billion by my count, but still, that is a ton of cheese.

Apparently, the new CBT tier at 60M above the lux tax is considered the Cohen Cap. Of the 3 players who voted no, two were Mets players (Lindor and Scherzererer).

Nelson Cruz loves hitting at Fenway Park

There is one team that Cruz has always had an admiration for and that’s the Boston Red Sox. In addition he’s always enjoyed hitting at Fenway Park.

“My favorite stadium is Fenway Park. It’s a good place to hit, the fans really appreciate the game and they know how to appreciate a good player,” Cruz said in an interview in the Dominican Republic.

Despite his admiration for Boston, the Red Sox are not in need of Cruz’s power bat with slugger J.D. Martinez under contract.

“I’ve never received an offer from the Red Sox but it makes sense, they had David and now they have JD,” added Cruz.

The 41-year-old has a career .293 batting average with 122 hits, 26 home runs, 75 RBIs in 109 games versus the Red Sox.

Make JD the fulltime LFer.

I was hoping for some transactions this AM? What gives?

They are afraid of being accused of secret deal-making over the freeze period.

True. JD may never play the outfield again for anyone.

That’s ok. Neither will I.

With 15 new positions opening, I could see JD getting moved. I put the Mets as the most likely interested party, since Cohen has let his team spend like mad…

Doubtful. We’re all making those accusations with no proof anyway…

But if you sign a guy 5 minutes after the deal is announced you make it look a little obvious...

Will MLB ask for phone records to see who talked to who and when?

If a deal was made during the freeze, there is no rush to announce it quickly and risk exposure.

And Bloom was asleep at the wheel again.

And just out of curiousity, who is Drew VerHagen?

I think he's an NPC.

Carlos Rodon to SF for 2 years $44million, or roughly $1mill per every IP they can expect from him…

That's an absurd amount.

Can anyone look at any of the biggest signings, this winter and say, I wish we had paid that much or more for that major signing?

Is Bloom being cheap or just smart?

Me, too.

Now, of all the biggest signings, so far, which is the one that comes closest to the one you'd take, if you had to?
