Even better.

It might happen, but I seriously doubt they would jettison either pitcher to clear a path for Connor Seabold, who has thrown all of 5 minor league innings this season…

20 innings. It's 5 starts.

Now now, we can't just go willy nilly DFAing guys!

The overwhelming bulk of baseball forum posts around the Internet involve proposing transactions that would or could never happen in the real world.

I’ve made far more than my share of them…

My mistake.

Still I doubt they DFA anyone based on 20 IP.

Now if Richards gets a 10 day case of 24 hour flu, that’s another matter…

That's only because the real world is less fun than the internet.

Arguably, Sale and Seabold should be up for their next turns in the rotation. They couldn't be worse than Richards and Perez at this point. Would Ort be worse than Robles?

If they DFA Richards, would he possibly come back and bite them? No. So why worry about DFAing him. If the Yankees pick him up, I hope they pitch him against the Sox.

Maybe if he just turned around and threw the ball into the OF.

I don’t know if Ort would be worse, but I would never say anyone couldn’t be worse. Seems like the hole can always get a little deeper…

Ok, so they lose 8-0 rather than 7-0?

Well, as ineffective as Richards has been, what if the DFA him and Seabold is worse?

And then tomorrow you can scream about it being time to DFA Ort and bring up Durban Feltman!

I'm not screaming about any of this s***. In fact, most of my posts about this are very sarcastic which has always been my style. They just whoosh right over you for some reason.

Call up Ort. He's pitching well.

Oh I got the sarcasm. But I respond that way for those who don’t…

Sale and Houck should take Richards and Perez’s rotation slots. Period. Now!

What we do with them is secondary. I’m fine with DFAing one or both, phantom IL, if possible.

I would not call up Munoz or Wong, and I’m no big fan of Marwin. We just have to wait for Schwarber and Arroyo.

Munoz makes some sense once he’s healthy, but Marwin is Cora’s guy. The Dalbec- Cordero platoon may be what we have to live through until Schwarber or Arroyo return.

Double phantom IL - just say they got into a big argument about who sucked worse, and both got hurt in the ensuing fistfight.

You know me. I am a very patient fan. I despise knee jerk reactionary arm chair QBing, but I’m all done with both of these guys.

At least Perez gave us a nice 11 game stretch.

Bye bye.

Maybe both were done in by the goo moratorium.

At this point, I could care less.

Give em a try in the pen, if you must try to save face or honestly think they can do better than who the replace, but just get them both out of the rotation NOW.

Yesterday is even better.

Like I said punch that panic button …. We can’t even beat one of the worst teams in the league let alone hang with the teams who improved at the trade deadline!!!

If the panic button is starting Sale and Houck as soon as they are due to start, I’m all for banging on the button hard!

Interesting turn on Part III of a Realistic View. I'm not sure it's push the panic button, but it sure as shooting ain't hope for the best.

The rotation not only stinks, but seems to be infecting the whole team. Dumping Richards and Perez is extreme, but might help. On the other hand, Pivetta and ERod have also stunk it up now and then. Even Eovaldi. At this point it is likely that stopping the doctoring of the baseball has affected the Sox rotation more than most other teams.

ERod is clearly a step up from Richards and Perez. Pivetta is another story.

I do think Pivetta deserves the 5 slot but not by much.

Hopefully Schwarber and Arroyo can boost the offence enough to help overcome any pitching shortcomings.

I know it seems like relying on hope is not a good strategy, but I think it is realistic to see the upcoming changes should be positive:

Sale> Richards

Houck> Perez

Schwarber> Dalbec

Arroyo> Duran (Kike to CF)

Bench improves, too
