Some, including MLBTR, had C Hernandez rated higher than E Hernandez.

It appears C got $5M/1 while E got $14M/2.

Realmuto is getting $23M x 5 with Philly.

I would have preferred C Hernandez to E Hernandez. But hey, Kike did make my list so I am ok with it.

Pederson/Renfroe platoon in LF would be dope.

You could do a Pederson/Renfroe platoon in Fenway RF. Per Ron Roenicke, Verdugo actually prefers CF.

But that leaves Benintendi as a full time LF. I'd actually almost prefer Pederson as a full time RF or CF and Beni platoon with Renfroe at this point...

Why such a salary difference?

Me, too.

Also, Chavis hits RHPs better than LHPs, so he would not make a good platoon in LF with Beni, if he's on the 26 man roster.

I would not like to see a Renfore/ Chavis platoon in LF with Beni in CF or RF.

Not sure.

Also not sure why Cleveland, a team that just acquired two middle infielders (Rosario, Gimenez) and still has no left fielder, decided to spend $5mill they claim they never have on another middle infielder.

Half of what they effectively cut Brad Hand for making just went to a player to fill a position they had already filled!!

If I had to guess, probably due to multiple teams interested.

Kike is a good player, and if Downs takes over 2B next year, Kike can move into a supersub role or take over another position full time. I think his versatility was a big factor...

So can we afford JBJ?

Or... do we want to?

Pillar is more in our price range, I think. JBJ is probably going to the Mets, as someone already mentioned.

mvp specifically said he wanted a left-handed hitting CF. So in order for the Sox to sign Pillar, he has some work to do first...

I missed that part.

LF Beni/Renfroe

CF Pillar

RF Verdugo

I could see that happening.

But I still want them to go over and sign Odorizzi if it does...

This is very likely to happen, IMO.

There are a few CF'ers out there via trade, but Pillar won't cost us any players from an already shallow roster.

Odorizzi is the guy I wanted all along, especially because of his wanting only 3 years. I'd have rather signed him than Ottavino, as we could have pushed a starter to the pen, but there's not going back, there.

It's not like Odorizzi is going to put us way over the line, anyway, and if Henry wants to go over by less, then we can trade Beni and/or a few players at the deadline.

Cesar Hernandez may have preferred the Cleveland vibe at any price.

Or not.

And Enrique Hernandez may have needed more money to come to Boston ... despite the Alex Cora connection.

Harm , The " Cleveland vibe " ? That's a new one .

Sign Pillar and be done with it!

I could live with that.

For all we know, Bloom has another trade in the works that is on no one's radar.

Dominoes falling quickly...

Semien to Jays $18M/1 (No wonder we didn't sign him)

Simmons to Twins for $10.5M/1 (I think he's worth more.)

Ramos to Tigers for $2M/1

La Stella to sign with Giants, soon.
