Roenicke was Cora's bench coach. Maybe firing Roenicke is not a good sign for Cora's return?

I also thought about that... unless -- it turns out there was a prearranged "firing"/"place-holder"/"rehiring"/"everybody-gets-their-old-jobs-back" pact behind the scenes. Doubtful, but not impossible...

Nah. That's normal for birds. The females drop into the background and look at that colorful plummage while thinking "Ok, he is definitely doable, if he doesn't get eaten by a hawk first."

And yet, my wife always takes offense whenever she hears someone reference a female as a chick.

That was my reference point as an SC fan.

I keep forgetting you're an SC fan. If you lived out there, I was going to ask if you ever saw Lori Laughlin at games

This reminds me of two pitchers who had styrofoam cups of coffee in the early 70s: Eddie Bane and Dick Baney.

You know the first one's wife, when particularly perturbed, could always refer to him as "the Eddie of my existence..."

But what did the dismissive missus of poor Dick Baney call him when she got annoyed?

No, just Suge Knight and Will Ferrell.

My wife would run into Gina Davis on campus every once in a while. She also literally ran into Clint Eastwood on graduation day (he was receiving an award).

Heyman says while the Sox have already started reaching out to people for manager recommendations, they have also been talking to people about Cora.

"Not ready to say its 70-80%, but I think Cora has a pretty good chance [of returning to Boston]."

You sitting in the prison seats?

And if Will Ferrell makes another movie like Bewitched, he should be incarcerated, too...

He was out the last time I had season tickets or went to a game.

Well if he makes another movie like Get Hard, I hope they out him back in...

Sam Kennedy on ownership's perspective of Alex Cora being a managerial candidate: We were fortunate to be able to be able to recruit Bloom from Tampa. Chaim and his team will run the process and ultimately decide who the next manager will be.

Heyman is the second national sportswriter pushing Cora. WEEI's Rob Bradford, on the other hand, suggested John Gibbons is a strong possibility.

Good, clear statement from Kennedy.

Yeah, well I haven't. I've switched to football, or do I have to wait until the end of the World Series? :P

You know the rule. Football season doesn't start until baseball season is over. That includes the postseason!

Perhaps. I still tend to think Cora will be back.

In part, The Captain thing (which is why I like Crawford so much for calling him out on it). Also the way RS fans go ga-ga over him: He's not Fisk, (but ok, maybe a cut about Sammy White). And particularly his reputation as a tough guy, for going after A-rod, while completely suited up in body armor.

There is good reason why Red Sox fans go ga-ga over Varitek, and it has nothing to do with offense.

As far as being suited up while going after ARod, no catcher is going to stop to take off his mask or gear in the middle of that type of situation.

If we were to hire a manager from within, I would like to see Carlos feebles get a shot,

I vote for interactive management by the fans using cell phones and other mobile devices.

Bradford is a dum dum.

That he is but he is the virtual in house flack. Gibbons was one of the few who was flown in for an interview prior to RR's hiring. And as they say where there is smoke.

I watched Feebles in Portland. Leave him where he is. I'm glad that it appears that Bloom gets the nod when it comes to selecting the next manager. I suppose Cora continues to be a potential candidate but in some ways I do think that a fresh start would be a great idea. Let Bloom do his job. I would like to see someone though with a little managerial experience get the nod.

A-rod was not going to the mound; he was just pissed for being hit. "The Captain" took a cheap shot. Catchers ordinarily just stand in the way if that happens.
