Sale looked amazing today. His ball had tons of movement today. The shoulder looks really good,

Let’s hope the shoulder holds up, because if it does, sale is going to be amazing this year.

That can’t happen. Jacko said so...

I can't believe this start to the season: 11 straight road games way out west in 11 days. Not a single day off. Rare in many ways. Sale's performance today encouraging... he faces the real thing against a 2-0 team on Thurs. Hope he's up to this and two more road starts. Daunting stuff.

The Red Sox have a relatively average travel schedule overall:

Chris Sale mastered the Seattle Mariners at Fenway Park last year:

I'm glad we get the west coast road trip done early.

I think we'll go 8-3 or 7-4.

Over the past decade the Red Sox have won only two of 12 series in Seattle against one of the weaker West Coast teams (but still posted a 21-21 record in the Emerald City over that span). Last year's historic 108-win World Series champions went 6-4 (.600) on the West Coast.

Anything is possible, but a winning percentage of .727 or .636 on a West Coast swing is a tough order.

I really think this is a big part of why Pedroia is starting the season on the IL, to get an extra pitcher on the roster. It is rare to play 11 games in a row without an off day to open the season.

It is a tough order, but this is the 2019 Red Sox we're talking about! :)

A man who has a systematic way of putting mustard on hot dogs.

I think I love you.

I'm sorry Kimmi. But the Capulets.. err I mean other Red Sox fans will never let us be together.

I'm fully aware of our past woes in Seattle and the left coast, but I think our team will be sharper out of the gate- not quite like last year, but yes 8-3 sounds right, After we sweep the M's, I might go to 9-2.

A four-game Red Sox sweep in Seattle would be truly historic because the Sox have never pulled it off in the Mariners' 42-season existence (despite six four-game series in the past decade alone).

The undefeated M's welcome the defending World Series champions to Seattle's renamed T-Mobile Park where I will be in attendance next Sunday.

I suspect my expectations are more realistic than yours.

Or not.:)

Of course, until last year the Sox had never had a 108 win season before in the team’s 116 year existence...

And that team still could not leave Seattle with a mere series win.

But that was a pre-housecleaning Seattle...

If one team is to win 3 of 4, which team would you choose?

The better team: the Boston Red Sox.

I make no prediction but I will be disappointed if the Red Sox win three games (as the Sox have in only one of the past six four-game series in Seattle). I would be OK with a split, which was the result in five of the last six four-game series in Seattle. I will be happy if the Mariners win three (or four) games.:)

I use simple math.....count the number series won. +2 if we sweep and -2 if they sweep. The goal is to get to +15.

This makes no sense.

In the 12 series in Seattle over the past decade the Mariners have won five and the Red Sox two. The clubs have split the other five series.

In the six four-game series in Seattle over that period, the Red Sox have won one (with three wins) while the clubs have split the other five four-game series.

I'm talking about how I keep track of regular season from April to September. Not the Seattle Series. +15 gets you to about 96 wins.

I feel bad for Harmony. His World Series is taking place the first week of the season. Not much to root for the rest of the season....

After the Red Sox series the Mariners will look forward to another 156 regular-season games, some against teams better than the Red Sox, some against lesser clubs, and three more against the Sox.:)
