You can't separate 2 independent clauses with a comma. You need a conjunction of a colon/semi colon.

(The "Can't say" clause is implied to be "I can't say.")

Lol. Thanks professor Moon.

I would like to point out the importance of punctuation in that sentence.

Take out the comma, and the sentence takes on the exact opposite meaning.

Yes, we all need baseball to return. :)

Thanks for your concern. However, it was just a typo. One might even say a RANDOM typo.

And in a slightly related topic, has anyone other than me wondered how fast Sale (and others) could actually throw a baseball if they just let it fly? I'm assuming that they have to 'take a little off it' in the name of control and protecting their arm.

Yeah, that's sort of like asking how hard Carson Smith could throw a glove if he really let fly.

LOL Things are more random than they appear!

Wait and see on Pomeranz, Charlotte not a very good team, especially Offensively. Koppech pitching tonight, and he's struggling down there. I need at least 2 more good starts from Pomeranz. Here's the Batting Stats for that League, not too much Offensively in that League. Pitching should be pretty good given the Competition.

At least 1 more quality start then I'll feel much better.

You have to keep an eye on the Competition your facing in the Minors, you will get a lot of False and padded stats otherwise.

That's why a kid like Beeks, does good against weaker Competition Offensively, and comes up here gets clocked.

Next, you'll be proclaiming that "real men use Viagra."

Real men take Viagra even when they don't need to. If you aren't flying a sweatpants boner 24/7, you aren't a real man. It's just the truth. Sorry.

LOL. Three days without baseball and this board has deteriorated into fart and boner jokes. I love you people.

I don't think the level of competition matters in this case. What matters is how he looked or performed, not the results. In this case, the velocity wasn't there, but the curve was sharp. That's a step in the right direction. You can evaluate the curve independently of the results. I wouldn't promote him at this time, though. I want to make sure he can consistently throw a quality curve. Thus, I would keep him down in the minors for at least one more start.

Any news on Porcello? He is not showing up anywhere on projected starters list. I wonder if that shellacking he took in his last start is due to injury?

There's nothing about him being injured. I assume he'll be starting the 4th or 5th game out of the break.

It's interesting because the Sox have said that Pom will be reinstated and get the start on Tuesday, but Monday's starter is still being listed as 'TBA'.

I am guessing Porcello gets the start on Monday. I haven't heard anything about him being injured.

Got tickets to my first ever Red Sox - Yankees game at Fenway in early August. I'm hoping beyond hope, Sale is going to get the start!

Cora said Pom will start the game on Tuesday against Baltimore.

Good to hear. We can now listen to all of the Price and Pomeranz haters.

The Sox now officially have Porcello listed as Monday's starter and Pom listed as Tuesday's starter.

ERod remains hopeful that he will return soon.

Wright is nowhere close to returning.

Sox are in on Mike Fiers, who has shut out the Sox through 6 as of right now. The guy has been pretty good this year

Mike Fiers did not mince words after the game: He thinks J.D. Martinez was scared to face him today.

“He ducked me today,” Fiers said. “He had been talking about that all year and I think he told (Red Sox manager Alex) Cora to get a day off against me.

Gotta love a guy with a sense of humor.

Agree, last 2 Months he's been Pitching real good. I count 9 quality starts (Including yesterday's) in a row. Like the way he pitches, on a not real good team too. His ERA was 2.77 for the Months of June and July, before yesterdays game. Some balls yesterday at Fenway, might have been difference makers, though. Be careful of Ballpark Pitchers Pitch in.

At Home 2.69 ERA

Road 4.44 ERA

This year.

No one here "hates" Pomeranz.....but most of us have some serious questions about his ability to compete with the loss of velocity he has exhibited. He isn't likely to get by with two pitches, one of which is a fastball that is in the 88-90 range. IMO he is better suited as a relief pitcher with that arsenal.
