Is it wrong that my first thought at 14-1 is don't blow this lead?

No. I feel exactly the same way--it's never never safe to bring Gene Stephens in at left.

What a game to be at. Place went nuts after Stanton struck out for the second time. Never seen a grand slam in person so that was cool.

Also, JD's looked like a grand slam to the naked eye, and the new song they play when we score a run is lit. So is the new Trader Joe's strike out whistle.

Just saw the game on tape delay.

Fantastic win.

Betts is back in the groove.

Beni seems to be starting to show life.

HRam keeps banging in runs.

JD hit the ball hard.

JBJ even got a hit.

Sale is, well...

Chris Freakin' Sale!

Watched it out here one the west coast on tape delay also.

Caught up in the bottom of the 8th.

Skipped a big colleague outing for the game. Something I really look forward to, as it's limited to only my favorite people.

Great choice! Season & series opener with the Yankees in a World Series bound season.

A no brainer!

Remember when a few people were worried about Betts doing poorly in spring training?

Remember how some clown was saying we should bench HRam vs RHPs and make him earn a FT role?

Remember when some said, "Wait until you play a tough opponent." I guess we'll have to wait a week, when we face the Angels.

I'm taking major incoming s***, but it feels SO GOOD! It just would not have worked out watching it after it was over.

No doubt in my mind . . . the Sox would have lost had I made the wrong choice.

It's all about dedication! :)

Not fair quoting me! ;)

Kidding! OK . . . I was a little worried about Hanley, but thought he looked VERY FIT! I was optimistic.

Having said al has Moon, in all honesty, there is no reason not to have total faith in Hanley. Hey, I've grown t like the guy, and uderstand he's had some freak injuries since his LF corner wall debacle. He's had other injuries too.. still, he hasn't inspired a great deal of confidence, an I can understand those who doubt he will give us a strong season. It's looking like he's healthy and ripped, so he should be good to go. Unlike others, I say you ride Hanley for ALL HE IS WORTH, and damn the consequences if he exceeds the ab's needed for an automatic contract in 2019. I think he pounds the ball this year, and gives JDM a run for his money. THAT WOULD BE AWESOME! Best case scenario, no matter what the ney-sayers have to say!

As for those who questioned "what about when we play REAL competition?" They had every right to question that with our cool bats. It was beginning to look like 2017 bats, except we were winning with great pitching. Consistently. It was still fair to question the 2018 Sox.

As for Mookie's COLD ST? I was mildly concerned. Mildly. He and Beni sure flipped a swtch!

Beni's heating up.

Hanley would have been the game STAR, but for Mookie GOING OFF!

JBJ is still cold, and AL TOO OFTEN rips his head off the ball with that ridiculously violent swing. The simply need to convince the kid to stay within himself, take a clean, controlled, level swing, AND KEEP HIS F'n head on the ball! Other than that, I love the kid.

Nuner looks to be a about 70 % :(

Vaz will heat up.

Bogie looks like an ALL STAR!

Devers is becoming the real deal. He will hit close to 30 HR's.

Beni will break out, & have a big season.

Could not be happier with the pitching!

WS 2018 :)

YES!!!!!!! I officially did it. I've officially managed to reach a certain status as my father before me and my grandfather did.

Sometime after it turned 14 to 1, I fell asleep during the game. I've never done that before!!!!!

Me too - If I had known before hand that Johnson was going to get some work, I would have set my alarm.

Actually, I was quoting myself on the second one.

If you look back, I actually expected HRam to have a good to very good year. I felt the surgery would finally help him get over the issues he had last year. That being said, I still felt he had to earn his starting role vs RH'd starters. I felt Moreland was pretty close to equal to HRam vs righties and since he's a much better defender, HRam would have to do significantly better to warrant playing FT. I also thought the Moreland signing's best attribute was that it probably keep HRam from vesting.

I'm not surprised HRam is doing well. I hope he does great. He's certainly making a strong case for starting vs RHPs, and I would not sit him right now. The guy is raking with men on base, and there have been a lot of them on base recently!

GO SOX!

Kick these skankees to the cellar!

Looks like I missed the right game! Had a family emergency keep me away. Good to see Stanton get a couple hits, but otherwise I’m glad I didn’t tune in. Enjoy the rest of the series guys.

Lmao well usually when I fall asleep it’s because we are losing horrificllay. Glad it was the other road!

Betts has 3 strikeouts this year, 2 of them call third strikes. He has swung and miss just 1%. That's insane. Remember he went 150 plate appearance or something and didn't strikeout? In the age of strikeouts, that's just absurd. Pitchers today are regularly hurling 100 mph pitches.

4 swings and misses all year!

The guy is definitely very special. Hope we don't let him get away from us.

So that's our winning formula--you weren't watching. A Yankee fan in our office and a very good guy, so today's chat was brief with no gloating. Actually, he's the one guy I enjoy talking baseball with because we know a lot about each other's teams.
