Tomorrow these teams probably will score 20 runs.

MVP don't forget the McDonalds for the dog.

I won't forget. They earned it.

You know our pitching sucks when Darwin Barney goes 3 for 4.

Exactly! Giving up 2 runs in 19 innings--- Inexcusable!!!! Good thing Sox have the big bats.

If Sox win, can I just go get them Wendy's now, or should wait until tomorrow and get McDonalds? Asking for my dogs.

Longest game thread this season? This game, this much-needed win certainly deserved it

Betts the real batting hero, far more than HanRam. Mookie's two doubles led directly to all three Sox runs. In the 2 run 9th to tie, Mookie had the only Sox hit. In the 19th his leadoff double meant he could score on a variety of fly outs and groundouts. His judgment allowed him to go on HanRam's pop single to CF in the 19th.

Farrell used his bullpen right for once.

3.5 up on the Yankees with 23 still to play--excellent.

Devers K did not suggest he needs to get back into the lineup--he couldn't hit fastballs, meaning he couldn't even foul one off. However, of the other infielders, only Nunez and Pedey seem able to hit, and Pedey apparently not every day.

Erod solid start simply because from the first pitch he was keeping the ball low, hitting his spots, and mixing his pitches. Maybe he has learned what it takes to be a real MLB pitcher. Sale says, "don't worry about me." But it's hard not to given his September track record. Porcello has not found his way back. Pom can be good, but rarely good enough to go beyond 6 and too often beyond 5. Fister alone still seems to be solid. But we are in September, the month of bottomless bullpens.

Bullpen so good it's still hard to believe. 11 arms, 13 scoreless innings. Two good catchers.

That, and maybe a little bit of "oh, f*** this s*** already" on the part of the Jays center fielder. He didn't exactly go all out diving to make a play on that.

So true. If you strike out in a pinch hitting situation, you should never play again. Great post!

Quarter Pounder with cheese or a Big Mac? Probably going to get them a side of chicken nuggets too. Is it wrong to not buy them fries as well?

I think there was a little bit of this on Mookie's part as well. On the postgame radio show, Betts admitted he was so tired he didn't even look to see where the CF was playing. He basically just took off. If Pillar is playing a normal CF (and with anyone except Hanley, he probably would have been shallower), he catches it, doubles Mookie off and we are having a bunch more pages about boneheaded baserunning.

But it worked out.

"I'm tired. I been walkin' all day." :D

Who stayed up to watch the conclusion of last night's marathon? I made it through the 15th, but the clock struck midnight and down I went!

Ahem... check the game thread. I was there to the end, but OMG I'm tired this morning. And I notice that the board is somewhat quiet this morning, too. LOL

I got my second wind when I got the score of the Yankees/Baltmore game. I'm still having trouble believing that game had a 2 1/2 hour weather delay and it still got over before the Sox game!

It's always wrong to not have a side of fries at Mcdonalds with your burgers. Quarter Pounder with cheese, Big Mac should be a vegan burger as all you get are bread and lettuces.

Can't believe the game went 19 innings last night..... Glad I went to sleep when I did. No way I would have made it up this morning and been able to come to work haha. Much needed win from these guys and glad to see a well pitched game from both E-Rod and the relievers not go to waste.
